Sisters at Sunset

I realize I'm a tad late arriving at the party,

but I want to join Moo-Mania & More for their Sunset challenge.

I'm also joining Try it on Tuesday with their latest challenge of My Friend (which can include human, animal, imaginary, practically anything, I suspect).

In case you can't read it,
Best friends and sisters Mary and Mildred
walk on the beach at sunset.
I apologize, but the lighting is very difficult tonight (yes, I just finished this).

Mary looks a lot happier to be on this beach than Mildred.  And I should have made the sandpaper look more like a beach and less like a sand dune!

Of course, this piece wouldn't be complete unless I added it to Yvonne's chosen theme of Colo(u)r in my World at Art Journal Journey.  Today's colors are obviously inspired by a sunset.

Materials used include a used file folder, various acrylic paints, a TH paper doll, sandpaper, and computer generated text printed on PINK copier/printer paper.  If you weren't here yesterday, I found an entire ream of pink paper and I'm desperately trying to use it, even though it's my least favorite color.

Please join me at Moo-Mania & More, Try it on Tuesday, and Art Journal Journey (or click the links on my right sidebar).  And thank you for visiting today.  It means the world to me.

Here it is dull and cold and is predected to stay the whole weekend this way.Not so nice - but maybe I will find art time this way.
I really hope you feel completely recovered and powerful now again!

  6. This looks a gorgeous sunset, I think Mary and Mildred will have good memories of this scene. I would.
It was a good idea using sandpaper for your beach as well.
I am so pleased you joined us at TioT's and gave a happy sigh, when I saw this wonderful page was also for Art Journal Journey.

  7. Your Sisters at Sunset (great title) may be one of my favorites of all the work I've see you do. Such a nice mix of the painting and collage and the image, color and the words really speak to me.

On another note, I loved your comment! I should have been clear about London -- you weren't the only one who thought that, I've learned! You can't help having a blond moment if all the info isn't accurately presented! Ha!

Thanks for coming on the journey of all those posts. One more travel tips one and then I'm on to other things!
