Happy Thanksgiving

Please note this is a scheduled post as I have been gone since Wednesday and will be back late tonight.  If all goes well, a friend will link me to AEDM.

Happy Thanksgiving to those who live in the US of A and observe the holiday.   Happy Thursday to all my international friends.

This is a day when families gather to give thanks. Prayer, in the form of grace is often given before the meal.

Originally celebrated as a religious holiday for giving thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims make it through the first year at Plymouth Colony, Thanksgiving now includes such events as the Presidential pardoning of two turkeys, the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, and a gathering of family for a traditional Thanksgiving meal, making it one of the busiest travel days of the year.

Thanksgiving is also a celebration of the harvest and a day to watch a favorite football team.   So enjoy today, eat veggies and pumpkin pie instead of turkeys, maybe even do the turkey trot, then prepare yourself for BLACK FRIDAY!

And because I had no time to make new art, here is what I made last year to celebrate the day.   Admittedly, as some of you know, this is my favorite holiday of the year.   There is no pressure to give gifts like on Christmas or Valentine's Day.

Today before anyone in the US is awake, I'm sending special thanks to my loyal internet friends, followers, and readers.  In many ways, you have become my family.

This is Day 24 of AEDM.  Bleubeard, Squiggles, and I wish each of you who celebrate it, wherever and with whom you spend it, a safe, happy, and thankful holiday.

  17. we don´t have Thanksgiving, yet. But I would not be surprised if comes any year. A few years ago they started with Black Friday. Now every shop has it and not only Friday but week and weekend to. This will ruin what we had in the days between christmas and New Year. :(
