Today we're visiting a place very few of us get to see for our Art Journal Journeyschool theme: the teachers' lounge.
We're joining Miss Fowler and Mrs. Gray
They are actually
snacking on goodies and sipping beverages
while discussing their students career choices.
For this spread, I used an image (an old ad) from a magazine in conjunction with a partial scrapbook background. I added some career choice cards after I cut the teachers hands so they would hold the cards. Sadly, the magazine ad was very thin, and one of the hands tore after I carefully cut through and around it.
Now it's your turn to share your drink related post. Any drink, any experience is acceptable. Of course, if you share one that includes Art Journal Journey's Back to School theme, Bleubeard and I would love that, too. Coffee, tea, water, wine, hot chocolate, lemonade, etc., postcards,
movies, old masters paintings, photos, or a trip out and about are all acceptable. The more unique and unusual the better, in my opinion.
Once you link, Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be by to visit.
Great idea, nice to see those teachers enjoying their snacks! We all used to take sandwiches to eat during break in the staff room. Thanks for another great page for AJJ, happy T Day, hugs, Valerie
I remember those cards from some game I used to play as a kid! Sigh -- takes me back.
Thanks for your visit and wonderful comment. I remember when we didn't need passports for Canada, too. The old days! I was intrigued to learn more about the Mennonites. I couldn't believe there was such a VERY long line of them, given that we had never, ever heard anything about that -- but then, my grandfather never spoke of his family. Family history research is certainly illuminating!
Have a good week! And thanks for adding to the "Sully" review. It goes higher and higher on the list!
Elizabeth , you have been nailing this theme all month!!! Another fabulous addition to the theme! I have not seen nor heard of the cards. Heck, I'd like to try them out even now to see what I'd come up with:) Happy T day!
This looks the funnest teacher's lounge ever. I used to stay away because it was all complaints, and now no one seems to use the teacher's lounge in my school. O guess they still have teacher's rooms in school. It is a fun page for T day for sure. I think they look like cool proactive teachers. Great idea for food and drink. :) Happy T day. Hugs-Erika
I think you are really enjoying this ArtJournal adventure Elizabeth!! :) Aaahhh the teachers lounge that evasive mysterious place..that you only get quick glimpses through the door as it opens... Happy happy Tday my wonderful host! Hugs! deb
Now I know why teachers are such relaxed people(at least some of them) - if they got such nice snacks always -lol! Great idea Elizabeth - super rocking page! Happy T-Day! Thanks for hosting AJJ this month and thanks for always hosting T-Day! Have a lovely day my friend! ♥♥♥ oxo Susi
You're right, I have never been in the teacher's room (they had a small room in our school, nothing that could be called a lounge). As a nurse I know what our little hidy-hole looked like and over the christmas period we decorated it in the worst possible taste (the rest of the hospice being chocolate box pretty and cute) and like your teachers, we had snacks and goodies. I love the fact that you put the cards in their hands. The broken fingers are not at all visible! I really like your page! Happy T-Day! Lisca
Teachers Lounge is a much nicer title than Staffroom - I must say that if snacks were ever provided it was usually the children in my cooking lessons that made them! A great colourful page Elizabeth! Hugs, Chrisx
Now those are the snacks that would have been very welcome. our staff room was tidy each morning, by lunch time it was a cluttered mess, Cups rating rather highly as nobody ever washed up till home time. Its a great page. Yvonne xx
What a great and imaginative page for your school theme E! I know I have been missing out on all of the fun and creativity. Thought I would pop in briefly to say hello to everyone. Happy T Day oxo
Your thoughts are very important to Bleubeard and me. I appreciate it when you care enough to stop by and even more when you leave a short message letting me know you were here.
I don't want to ever turn on comment moderation, so when I find comments that don't relate to my blog content, your comment will immediately be deleted.
