WOYWW 344: Gifts, gifts, and more gifts

I'm joining Julia at Stamping Ground, where we show what's on our desk each week.  I apologize that this post is so long, but I had to share my gifts I received for Christmas from my art and Desker friends.

Here are a few of the gifts I received from my art and WOYWW friends over Christmas.  At the top left is Chris's (pearshapedcrafing) card and package.  At the bottom left is a gift and card from Annette (Voodoo Vixen).  In the far back is a card and gift from Nan of Froggy Designs.

I realize Linda is not a desker, like the deskers I mentioned above, but I couldn't help but show this tip-in created by Linda Findley.  It should read tip-in, not card.  Since I know so many of you appreciate a new way to make cards and mixed media art, I had to share this.  I thought it might be inspiration for some.  Although it was well padded, it sat in my mailbox for two days while I wasn't around and the package got wet.  Once I dried the package and opened it, I wasn't able to fluff it any better.  It's still stunning and I love it.  I'm going to frame it and use it as part of my Christmas decorations next year.

A close up of Annette's card

and a close-up of Nan's card back.

Here's the beautiful card I got from Nan,

and the gift she sent to Bleubeard and Squiggles.  Thank you Nan from the boys and me.

Not just an obligatory rocking horse today, this beautiful stamp from Annette is perfect.  And don't you just LOVE the bagpipe pin she sent.  She must know I don't wear jewelry next to my body (even my 24K gold class ring gave my finger a rash), but I can wear this on a dress or top.  Thank you Annette.

And look at this bounty I got from Chris (pearshapedcrafting).  I swear my European friends are going to drag me kicking and screaming into the world of stamping!  And to think it all started with Julia.
This is a close-up of Genevieve, my very own art angel.  Isn't she gorgeous?

She even jingles on the back!  Thank you Chris.

Sorry this is so long, Julia.  I thought everyone might enjoy the gifts I received from art friends I met through YOU, the Queen of Deskers and WOYWW!

  10. Thanks for sharing all your pretty treasures. Amazing delights with the variety. Thought of you thru all the storms hitting the U.S. We are so fortunate. Snow hasn't been so bad and only 1/2 Jan..Feb and March to endure yet. Winds are what can be bad as if we lose electric we have no water. In my mind nothing worse than the water mess. Tornado's are usually covered by insurance, unexpected water areas are not. So hard for most to rebuild and it is a long drawn out mess to get settlements and so many states were hit hard.
Best wishes for a great New Year. I am hoping I can clear away more storage items and do more crafting. Enjoy a WOYWW kind of day.

  20. Cant choose between them. I would do the same with the tip in. I didn't notice the water damage, so it certainly isn't damaging the art! Most of all though, it says so much about you and your friendships that so many people reach out to you with little gifts. Am utterly delighted that Europe is going to get you stamping more!

  39. Wow such gorgeous gifts from your art friends! I am a bit envious of them really LOL. Sorry to hear about your power outage. I too am late getting around desks but my natural disaster I fondly call a Momnado or maybe a Momapolooza. It is when I have a list of things I plan to do and it gets over ridden by my Mom who thinks her list is way more important and all of it requires my assitance. So Happy WOYWT :) Shel/PaperOcotilloStudio #14
