Friday Smiles 152: The naughty nip made him do it!

I realize it's been awhile since I joined Annie at A Stitch in Time, where each week she shares a Friday Smile.

Some of you may remember this photo I shared a week or so back.  To recap for those who didn't see it, the cat bed and two mice were given to Squiggles by my friend Sally.  She said the boys would have to share the catnip mice.

Feeling sorry for Bleubeard, I gave Squiggles the purple cat collar and Bleubeard the blue small dog collar, since his head and neck are so big in winter.  I also gave Bleubeard the catnip pillow.  I thought they made nice Christmas presents.

Yesterday, Bleubeard and I slept later than Squiggles since both of us were up all night.  When I came out of the bedroom

this is the sight that hit me square in the face.  I knew it wasn't Bleubeard because he and I had shared the bed behind closed doors, while Squiggle was sleeping in the office.

Contrary to what some believe, I don't sleep with a gun OR a camera under my pillow.  But the camera was on the nightstand, so it didn't take me long to retrieve it.    As for the gun, that's a story for a different day.

As I got closer, I realized what I was looking at.  Not only had he torn into the throw rug,

he had also torn into the small catnip infused pillow I had gifted to Bleubeard.  You might even be able to see some of the green bits of catnip still infused in the batting.

I decided I would do something nice for Bleubeard to make up for Squiggles attacking the catnip.  Not sure what it will be yet, but I'll make it up to him.  I hope Squiggles enjoyed making this mess, because I was the one who had to clean it up!

On the bright side, as this trash was sitting on my dining room table, I realized it would make great art fodder.  So I removed the batting and added it to my "found objects."

Let's join Annie and begin the weekend with a Friday Smile.

  1. Naughty Squiggles! He was perhaps bored, or jealous that Bluebeard was with you? Whatever, he had fun and you got the work! My cat used to love slicing open cushions and spreading the feathers everywhere....Have a lovely day, hugs, Valerie

  3. Looks like Squiggles really enjoyed that present. Made me smile to see it as my cats have this trait to, hence they rarely have catnip toys.

  4. I admit I did chuckle at the mess. I'm sure the cat nip made him do it....but it sure looks like he's had fun doesn't it?
It's good to see you joining in the fun this week....you've been missed.
    Hugs,

  8. LOL... My dogs do this with their sleep pillows which my daughter gave to them as she bought new pillows for her room. I Always repaired them - 3 times meanwhile- but now I put them away from the dog sofa. The filling was nice to put again in the pillows - but I am tired to repair them every day...

And always when they want me to play with them or they are wishing a walk or something, one of them take a pillow that is on my kitchen-bench and show to me that if I wouldn't mind their wishes they would kill the pillow....bad dogs!!!
    Very clever!!!
Squiggles is a young guy and I guess he wasn't able to resist this amazing catnip taste! Lol!
Happy start of the weekend Elizabeth!

  9. Hi Elizabeth, long time no see. Great to see you here now.
Oh dear! What a mess! Is Squiggles jealous? That must have been a shock.
I hope they behave himself for the rest of the week,
    Have a good week,
    Blessings,

  11. Well that little bit of found treasure will bring a big smile to your face when you get round to making some art with it. I had to smile as it reminded me so much of my late cats and dog who were always up to some mischief or other. We still love them, though, don't we?
Happy New Year to you..... and Bleubeard and Squiggles too.

  13. Aaaaww, poor Squiqqles. I expect he is mad because his name is not on the blog.
You can't go wrong with a good cat story and this is a good one.
How amusing that you rescued some of the "trash" to make art, I hope you give Squiggles the credit.

  16. Sorry to say it made me smile at the mischief Squiggles had been up to, but on the up side you have some new found stuff for your stash. Maybe he thought he was making you a gift for when you woke up. Don't we all forgive our pets and love them always.

  17. I think Squiggles had a good time, or maybe was a little angry not to be asleep in bed with you and Bleubeard. Those kitties, I tell you!

  18. They are worse than children aren't they. I have to separate my cats into three rooms at night or I would wake up to something similar every day. None of them are allowed in the bedrooms though. But you can't help loving them.
Thanks for visiting my blog space. It is good to be getting back into the swing of things now. Kate x

  19. Hi Elizabeth and happy Friday/Weekend, bit late posting and doing the rounds just now. Oh dear that puss did have some fun but not much fun when we have to clean up the mess. Enjoy your week and pats for Bleubeard, Robyn
