Moo Mania and More: Hot Summer

I was over at Susi's blog earlier in the day and saw there was a new challenge at Moo Mania and More.  It was Hot Summer.  I decided to play along.  At first I was going to paint something using some of my new Tyvek flowers, which BTW, I did NOT smell when I heated the Tyvek.  But I've also been working on pages for a scrappy journal,

so I thought it would be the perfect time to make another page.  This one would honor summer in all its glory.  This is an 8.5 X 11 inch (3.15 X 4.33 centimeter) standard US copier paper page folded in half and decorated on four sides.  This is only one of the four sides.

A detail shot so you can see a bit of my wonky sewing and read this hot summer tale.  The shooting stars are rather appropriate right now, too, since the Perseids meteor shower is in the nightime sky, but might be hard to see due to the brightness of the moon.

I've decided to play along at Moo-Mania (and More), so I hope it might inspire you to play along, too.  According to the rules, you can enter anything, including, but not limited to a Moo card as long as it follows the theme.

  3. I love this! The wonky sewing suits it perfectly, and I love the variety of stitches. I have yet to see a meteor shower. Either I forget, or they are obscured by street light, moonlight or a thick layer of clouds lol.

  5. This is really fun Elizabeth - another challenge I had no idea existed... I am still knee deep in Yellow Daisies (haha) so I will probably have to pass. I like your piece though! Do you have flowers called "shooting stars" in Kansas? I have no idea if that's their real name but we have them here and I remember them growing wild at my grandma's place as I girl (along with many other wonderul things). I think there were more Spring thatn Summer though.

  11. This page has a very nostalgic look with the country store image and the fun poem. You really captured Summer with the background colors!

I came across an advertisement for watches--a whole booklet. They are quite large & I was wondering if you would be interested in it for your Time AB. I didn't want to send them "unsolicited" and add to your recycle pile. Just let me know!
