Working on UFOs

Those of you who have been around my blog for some time, remember back on November 26 of last year that I showed how I started covering these CDs to use in a future art book.  I aptly called it "recycled trash."

These CDs took a back seat to other projects, but I finally found time to work on a couple of them right before I put all my winter related images away.

It's fairly easy to see where the next CD background came from.

Inspired by the recent Chinese New Year, I created this.  I was also inspired to clean my scanner right after I took these.

Do you have UFOs, or unfinished projects?  If so, how many?  I can count three I've started that are waiting for inspiration to hit me over the head.

  1. How cute are these...Love all Chinese writing...and your gorgeous cardinal.

Sunny and cold today, hope your heat is working fine, that was some snow. We got that much too. That's why I will never get rid of my old wood stove, I can heat my house and cook on it. xox

  2. I have a lot of art journals that I have started and never finished. I always seem to get drawn in by a new book and then the cycle continues. Maybe there is a way to combine all the unfinished journals together! hmm

  3. Actually I don't have UFOs. I have a metric tonne of not-yet-started-but-I -will-one-day......but I guess that's no better. Not is it worse, so I'm even!! The CDs are a good idea, we used to get loads as mail shots and things, but haven't seen any like that for a few years now. Hope the snow has abated...and the temperature has risen a little at least!

  8. I recently got a crop a dile and started playing around with cds just before the craft room make re-do, so that's one ufo. I have another beading project--almost finished waiting for embellishment and what it will become. That's all I can think of--better go start some more!

  9. You know how much I like recycling! these are great. UFOs, well I must admit, it's more than twenty and less than 50. Of course it is hard to tell sometimes between a WIP and a UFO, so perhaps we might change 50 to 100? lol

  10. Cool! Love the cardinal! Now I have to ask...what do you use to adhere the paper to the cd? I'm having no luck with the adhesives I'm using. Many thanks! .....four UFO s.

  11. Thank you, very much for all those lovely comments. I am feeling very similar to you as I am trapped away from my sewing room too, but by the heat, not the cold. It is a world of extremes at the moment.

  12. Aaaah, the good ole UFOs... they hang about in boxes and baskets sometimes just needing a couple of minutes and inspiration to be completed! Love your CDs covered with papers, they make lovely books.
Hope you are staying warm with all that snow while I sit in the coolof the aircon!!

  13. Like Julia, I tend to have more ideas perking in my brain than actual UFO's. Sometimes the thinking portion takes we months and the execution only a few hours.

  14. How pretty these are, love them both!! I do remember you working on these last fall. Love how you make everything into art!

I have a few UFO's, 2 albums that need to be finished. A pile of layouts done but not put into my albums. The one commenter above who said she has lots of ideas to start but never starts them, well I have those too.

Thanks for sharing and can't wait to see more again.
