May and June: calendar pages in Kate's 366 challenge

I can't believe we've finished five months of 2012 and getting ready to celebrate half a year of calendar pages. Our fearless leader Kate at the Kathryn Wheel is in charge of this project. I'm just happy to be a part of it.

As you can see, I took these photos earlier in the day. The sun was shining and there was no hail. If you want to see hail, you'll have to wait till I get the photos off my camera later today. And thankfully, my electricity is back, so I can post this.

This month was all about cleaning and preparing for company, after which I entertained for about a week. I made notes and ticked them off as I completed each cleaning or gardening task.

Although I have made NO art since April, except for one ATC, I am proud that I was able to accomplish everything I set out to do during the month of May. I've even started writing notes and quotes in the margins of my calendar.

Now I look forward to June, and hopefully more art time. Or at least art inspiration. And of course, hopefully, no hail and high winds. Looks like May was the month that went out like a lion where I live.

  2. I love your layout. Great way to journal daily life and accomplishments. I want to do an art journal. A smash book. Something. So inspiring to see what others are doing. But so far I've gotten no further than oohing and aahing. Hope the weather is better over there. It is hot, hot, hot here. Take care. Tammy

  3. Dripping sprayed backgrounds are very nice Elizabeth. I also really like the layout of the columns - too much cleaning though - more fun! xox

  4. What a great journal this will be at the end of the year to capture just snippets of your daily life. Plus those fun arty things like IA etc. The backgrounds are beautiful, but the idea and follow thru to fill in those squares is even better. Happy June.

  5. Other than your neighbors tree, did you have any damage? I was thinking about your poor garden, wondering too if Bluebeards grass suffered! Now, we have to get you inspired to do some art! I am worried about about your absence from creativity!! waving hi from the hills of North Carolina :)

  14. I like that round stencil...is it a stencil or did you create it yourself? I want to see your flower pounding. I've tried that with leaves but not flowers.
