This week Kim who set the Inspiration Avenue Challenge, asked us which day of the week we were born. I thought I would create something for Sunday's child, the day of the week I was born. I had planned to color everything after assembly, then time got in the way because I had to wait so long between each step.For some reason, I can't get a heat gun to work when there is a ton of gesso on one side that isn't quite dry and a ton of gesso covering vintage book pages on the other side. It just doesn't work, and it doesn't speed things along, at least not for me.
This collage is made from old magazine images, old book pages, an old calendar, and a computer generated little girl I got as a freebie many moons ago from Terri at Pringle Hill Studio. Thanks so much for this fun challenge, Kim. It also inspired my Tea Tuesday post.

...looks fabby, you can't tell you've got any wet bits from the photo...I've only used gesso once so don't really know the do's & don'ts with this stuff but a rather grand looking collage has been created...Mel :)

ReplyDeleteHave you ever used soft gel matte medium for adhering collage papers? It's wonderful stuff and it won't burn you like a glue gun will.

Really lovely as it is, I'm kind of glad you didn't color it. Of course you COULD color it and then show us that version too. I like the effect of the gesso.
