It's almost time to introduce Bleubeard to his cat grass.
For the first year ever, the birds have not eaten half my tomatoes before they had a chance to grow from starts. It's a good thing, too, since this year I only bought four. To what do I attribute this miracle?
The garden hose. I hoped it would look like a snake and keep the birds at bay.
Do you have a garden? If so, are you happy with how it's progressing?

ReplyDeleteyour garden looks promising...I only grow herbs and flowers and they are going gang busters with our warm and wet weather
have a very happy Memorial Day weekend

My garden is nearly drowning. I'm hoping that the expected 90° temps tomorrow will dry things out. We've had 6 inches of rain in about 48hrs.
ReplyDeleteI have a "teeny" veggie garden and way too much of a flower garden! In Oregon it doesn't warm up for the tomatoes until about June, so I put red plastic around the cages/support structure to keep them cozy and get them off to a good start. Your's look like they are doing just fine without it!
ReplyDeleteI only plant cucumbers because they grow so fast. I just got them outside during the week so not much going on yet.
ReplyDeletePots this year too. Not much veg - not enough sun. Mostly greens and some herbs. Isn't the fresh dill just the best! xox
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your postings whether they are about ART or GARDENING ! I am in Mn and we are having a cool, rainy spell. My tomatoes look great but I am worried about my green beans. they haven't sprouted yet....
ReplyDeleteJust sporting a flower container garden is enough for me! :) waving at ya!
ReplyDeleteLove the garden hose idea... I tried something similar at home in Scotland with an old stick that looked very snake like to keep the neighbours cats from digging up all my nice plants... now I am going to be going home with two of my own who will no doubt destroy everything in sight!! LOL
ReplyDeleteWe don't know where we are going yet... Chris is not looking because as soon as he does someone will want him 'yesterday' and we won't get our 3 months off to take care of stuff at home but I am holding out for Australia... I would love to go there for our final 2 years... similar weather to South Africa and they drive on the correct side of the road!! ;) We will have to do a wait and see what opens up when the time is right!! Pandy and Tom-Tom are lucky as the UK changed the rules for bringing pets in from January this year so they can fly in and come home with us immediately!! :)
Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteWe'll miss your talent this week in APR but I totally understand when a theme just isn't "you". If you do make any art at all remember, you don't HAVE to do the theme, it's always optional!!
Hugs,
Jenn
Sctitches to that beautiful muse cat, Bluebeard!
My garden is filled with flowers and herbs. I've given up on growing veggies because the summers in Las Vegas are brutal. My roses are blooming and so are the day lilies. Lots of parsley and basil, too.
