WOYWW the REAL #148

Last week I got ahead of myself. This is week 148, at least, according to Julia, leader of the pack and keeper of the links.

On my main floor craft desk this week is my 366 day (monthly) calendar. I need to decorate some pages and have already gotten out most of the materials I will use for this project. Also on my desk, I spot WOYWWendy trying to climb onto this week's rocking horse I'm getting ready to paint. She must want to keep the real wood look!

Please leave your number when you visit. It was SO easy to find everyone who left their number last week. And I think I kept this post at least as short as or maybe shorter than last week, too!

  1. OOoh aren't we just such goody two shoes?? Nice short and sweet posts!!
The house is 9 years old... so not old at all really, but Pandy and Tom-Tom have ruined the carpets even though they have numerous scratch posts all over the house!! Little beggars are costing me $8000.00 to replace them all!! Eeeeek! The sink in our bathroom had a crack in it when we bought the house and I bought the replacement the week after we moved in... its taken this long to get the job done!!
You are right... its going to be a stressful few months but I should be used to it by now... shouldn't I?? LOL
You certainly look like you are having fun with the paints today... no splashing Wendy now!!

No, but the best bit is, I don't and have never bought her a Birthday present - ha ha bless her she did try

  15. I think Wendy wants to get away from all the paint! SHE doesn't want to get paint all over herself! Clicked on the picture to find out what the other stuff were but the picture didn't get any bigger. Are those letter stamps in the back? :^) patsy #20

  39. I'm not offended..lolol!! You've hit the nail slap bang on the head. I AM a fabric whore, junkie, addict, tart...all those sorts of words. My name is Lunch Lady Jan and I'm a fabricaholic. :)
That book link made me chuckle - how often have I finished something in a blaze of glory only to realise that I should have attached piece C before piece A, or I should have attached the embellishments before sewing up the seams. You name it, I've learned the hard way.... :)

  47. Ok, so I've learned that preparation is a really good pay off...from you. And preparation is sure what your desk is about today, and I wonder which months you are planning to do...I can't believe tha t.ike me you find yourself two or three days Ito a month and have no calendar for it...that's a whole other skill!! And I spy alphabet stamps, go you!

  48. Lots of things to look at this week. Love the painty goings on in your book. I am not linked again this week. But wanted to check in with you. Enjoy the rest of the week. Hope all those nasty storms don't head your way!!

  49. Looks like you are ready to get messy - yay!! Love those colorwashes the colours are so vibrant but I get in a real state with them. I don't know why Easter is pastel ether - why is Christmas red and green? Oh, I suppose that is holly or something. Thanks for popping by to see me, Cindy #67

  51. I LIKE long posts lol! More interesting! Esp. if there are lots of piccies!!

Love your desk this week, Elizabeth - those subtle colours on your book are beautiful, and I'm sure the project will be stunning.

So sorry you've had such problems commenting. Blogger can be a real PAIN sometimes. Sometimes it takes me up to 20 attempts even to access a blog, and quite often the pictures won't load at all, with is so frustrating when you get the description but can't see what it's all about! I do wish they'd sort it out - it's been playing up for about 18 months now...

Thanks for your comment on my blog! I did a bit more on the choc-a-bloc project today but it's still only at the Polyfilla/gesso stage. It's now in the airing cupboard for another long protracted drying period, but hopefully soon there will be something to show for it!

    Happy WOYWW,

  55. Just pondering a few things Elizabeth and was wondering what is the difference between an Altered Book and an Art Journal? Also is there something special or particular about a "collage" in an AB? Being a scrapbooker by heart, "doing a collage" seems quite alien to me and I guess I will always fall back into scrapping mode. Thanks for all your hard work with us on the course. I'm loving my book, it is very special to me. BJ

  61. Doesn't leaving that number make a difference? Mind you, you didn't leave yours. Tut Tut!
Did WOYWWendy manage to get on the horse - and more to the point did she manage to persuade you not to paint?
You write in a diary each day? That's some task.
I'm late this week, real life got in the way - Happy Easter anyway. Hugs, Neet #10
