What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday # 100

Don't know about WOYWW? Check out Julia's Stamping Ground for all the details.

So what did you think of the big wedding? Several of you I visited made at least some mention of it. Back to the present, here we are at week 100, and I'm working in my basement, trying to get the things that go in my hallway sorted out after the painters threw everything in boxes with no regard to their placement, or content. At least I'm making a bit of progress.

I've got the same shelving unit on the north wall of the hallway,

but I've added two new shelving units on the south wall. Since the hallway is rather narrow, I don't really have enough room to show both units in their entirety. However, I did find a couple of rocking horses sitting around, since I know that's really why you came tonight. Have a great WOYWW and coming week.

  3. it seems to take ages after the workmen have been in to reorganise, doesnt it! How come they can make mess in seconds only for the clean to take days????

  4. iI am a disabled organizer and I like that idea...just pit things in the right area without regard for placement. Really, my mind doesn't work that way! I also like buy two new shelves! I think I could add shelves forever!!!
You never know what you will learn here;-)
    Fondly,
    Suz

  5. You don't mention Bleubeard these days - hope he is ok. Thanks for the peek at your shelving, know what you mean about areas not being easy to photograph but you have done a good job of showing us and how cute that the horses turned up. #14

  6. It's a slow process but I would point out that the longer you take and the more thought you put into it the better as otherwise you will have to just redo it (yeah, that's me, I unpack and organise in a couple of days and always have to redo it)!! Lovely to see the rocking horses making an appearance too!

  15. Nice shelving! I would need to do some sort of clearing and tidying but if you have as little space as I do there is nowhere to expand!
I had a look back at your other posts - love the idea of triple use of a tea bag!
    Lots of hugs,

  19. Glad to see that you are gradually getting things back to normal ...what a job you are having.
I loved watching the wedding ...what a beautifully serene bride ...not sure what some of the guests were wearing lol

  20. Looks like you're making progress :) You'd have thought the painters would have at least asked where you wanted stuff to go before just dumping it all.....

  21. What a big job for you but what a good job you are making of it all. Come to mine next please!! I really wasn't that interested in the royal Wedding until the day... I was so bored with the excessive hype in the run up. When the day came it was such a tide of emotion, happiness, pomp and pageantry. Made me proud to be English! Check my blog again for a fab rocking horse I missed off my Devon photos!

  25. Ohh I'm glad those rocking horses have made it up the shelves. Hope you make lots of nice discoveries as you reorganise. I also was wondering how Bluebeard has been lately .... a big pat from me.

  27. Yup, I need more shelving!!! I don't dare reveal my work space right now. I posted a pic way back when, when it was new and clean, neat and orderly - hasn't been that way since - despite my best efforts!!!

  30. We have some very similar shelves in our garage and they are brilliant. It must feel like an endless task sorting everything out but you'll get there. Hope Bleubeard is well.

    Happy 100th WOYWW, xxx

  31. Hooray for organization! I bet it's making you feel better....

  32. Afternoon Elizabeth, you'll be happy when you get it all straightened out and you can see everything at a glance. You are so right about those rocking horses - too cute to miss each week. I'm surprised Bleubeard hasn't followed suit and taken up residence on one of the shelves too. The Boss would be nosing in all the boxes by now :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #38

  33. I suppose that the mess they made of packing your stuff is a good excuse to sort it all out and organize and catalogue and buy news stuff to add to the catalogue!

  34. The wedding WAS beautiful and your space is looking ship shape. Good luck with the redo!
Can you believe WOYWW is 100!

  35. Someone must have let a Tidy Bug loose this week I think, we're all at it!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Gracious, there seems to be an air of massive organisation, will you be labelling shelf edges too?!! I would have to, or it may all just be lost to me!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I haven't been to a wedding in quite a while so I attended vicariously through your wedding posting. It's a good thing they are spaced isn't it? I'd hate to have to go that distance for another one in the near future.

You are really coming along with your organization.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Great organization, Elizabeth. We sure miss Bleubeard. He is always such fun when you show him. And I see the rocking horses, too.

  40. Hi Elizabeth - its ages since I have popped over here to see what you are up to. I don't know where the time goes - Weds come round so quickly don't they. Maybe its something to do with the fact that I am 60 this year!! You seem very busy with your organising. It will be great to have it sorted. All the best. Jo

    ReplyDelete
  43. Organization is something I am okay at but when it comes to my art supplies there just IS NOT enough room.

    ReplyDelete
  44. How many things have you found that you had forgotten you had? Every time I do some reorganizing in my craft room I find...something! It usually inspires me to make something with it. That's alway good.

  45. Organizing for a permanent space? How fun.

  46. Shelving - and storage,

My My Elizabeth - I would have gone crazy by now - it is taking so long for you to get back to normal...

  47. I sooooo need more shelving!! And just to get more organised generally...but I start sorting and always get distracted by things I find and what I could do with them and end up creating more mess instead! Lovely to hear from you ...also loved your Altered Puzzle..some great bits and pieces! Happy WOYWW, Esther xx

  49. Almost like Christmas I bet - opening the boxes, finding things you forgot you had, having empty shelves and space to fill! As for the big wedding, I LOVED the trees! And some of the hats were a hoot!

    ReplyDelete
  50. even here in the Philippines, we were interested in the royal wedding. interesting to watch a different culture (we never wear hats to a wedding). i was fascinated with the fascinators!
how nice to have those big shelves to organize stuff in. enjoy your organizing, that's enough exercise for you!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Now what were those rocking horses doing there? Are you sure they aren't planning something? Hope you get your stuff organized soon! It's such a pain isn't it, when we'd rather be crafting!!! Patsy from

  53. Always the rocking horses - how wonderful! Love the new storage, there's never quite enough is there?

    ReplyDelete
  54. I think you've inspired me Elizabeth - I desperately need to do some organising of my own! Things are so much nicer when they're all neat and tidy, though that never seems to last with me lol!

While I'm here can I also just let you know that we're holding a charity art auction this week at Inspiration Avenue, if you'd like a peek :)
