It appears that I have practically a full set, possibly minus the sugar bowl lid, of the tea service on the left, and I have a few pieces of the set on the right.
I was especially interested in where I might have gotten these goodies, since I have no idea how long I've had them or where I got them.
One thing I do know is they are all marked on the bottom of each piece, no matter how small it was.I hope you'll join Kimmie and all the Tea Tuesday gals as we explore tea, tea paraphernalia, and other drinkable goodies today and every Tuesday.

Your teeny tiny tea set is precious...I am drawn to really little things...funny enough very large things can also be fascinating...like huge sculptures...there used to be a ginormous chair out in front of a furniture store...always enjoying driving past that.
My mother was known for her teeny tiny creations...she used to make 1.5 inch tall Peter Rabbits with such amazing detail

ReplyDeleteI still have a partial set that says made in Japan also. Had it since I was about 8 yrs old. So fun. Happy tea day.

ReplyDeleteAaaaaw, I wonder where they come from? Do you often find things you have no recollection of? LOL I have a week of Chris home.... which means that every time I start something downstairs in the basement he finds a reason to call me back up again... so not a good week for playing about, but a nice week of having him about... but then its only Tuesday and I have already missed Tea and have nothing to show for WOYWW either... hmmmm!!

ReplyDeleteLove these! I had a china tea set like this when I was around 10 (although I doubt if they were real china :)--they were larger than this, and we played with them constantly--constantly. And I was thinking about them, saying--oooh--why didn't I save those?? But guess what I found last week when I was cleaning out my basement?? The moral of this story--clean your basement more than every 10 years! :)

ReplyDeleteI've got a tea set from Japan and it also has the name on the bottom of each piece. Maybe that makes them valuable. Sounds like you will be back in business soon with your basement remodeling.
