I am not here. I am on the road. This is an automatic post. I wanted to get these images off my camera, so here we go.
About a month ago, I purchased a new, unused kitchen sponge to make stamps with. Materials I used were a black Sharpie, the sponge, and kitchen scissors.
I made four images, a flower, house, cup of tea, and an "E." After cutting them out of the sponge, I was surprised at how porous the sponge was. I'm not sure they work all that well, but I now have a few stamps to add to my arsenal. This may give you some ideas, too, although I wonder if a less porous sponge wouldn't have worked better. I'll see what I can find in California.

I had that same experience with sponges. Too messy. I think my next stamping adventure is going to be building up a stamp with yarn glued to a block. I think using an additive process could be interesting.
ReplyDeleteI have used things I find in the hardware store, like this kind of rubber mat stuff. Go take a look sometime and see what you can find, especially in the plumbing dept.
ReplyDeleteI am thinking that these could be pretty messy because they would soak up too much paint or ink... a much denser foam would be better!!
