It's the perfect weather for this icy drink, and what could go better with it than a great piece of cupcake art. Remember my dear friend who recently graduated and I made a journal for her? The photos of the signatures are here and here. Well, she reciprocated in a BIG way by sending this framed collage. Just think, Kayla is only 18 as of last November. She has a real eye for art. She's been published in Cloth, Paper, Scissors and has been on Quilting Arts TV. I've known ever since I saw her first piece of art how special she is. Please take time to check out this post from way back in 2008.So, it's only natural today to honor Kayla as my blog of the day. Although I normally have a tea blog on Tuesday, I couldn't help but expose all of you to Kayla's Living the Creative Teen Life blog. Her art is stunning and I've been a proud recipient of many of her pieces since I first met her in cyber space at the tender age of 16. If you were at the International Quilt Show in Chicago in April, you might even have met Kayla. Be sure to peruse her blog because she writes well, makes super art, and is a fantastic seamstress. And she is a tennis champ, too. If that isn't enough, she and I are both Gleeks. I don't believe there's anything this young lady can't do!! Here's to you, Kayla.
