I'm once again joining Matilde from Craftowanie. You probably know by now she is our host this month at Art Journal Journey. Her theme is Houses and Buildings.
I'm not sure if this is my penultimate or final entry this month. It all depends on the weather because I am fighting water in my basement due to all the rain we are getting. We got over 4 inches overnight last night and more is on the way. We set a record for the wettest June since 1928.
I began by cutting a sheet of green cardstock into a circle. Next, I cut both sides so it looked like the apple had been eaten. Next, I cut and affixed the stem which I am calling the chimney. Then it was time to stamp the apple inside the core. That represents the door. I then outlined the house using green dye ink.

A yummy house!
ReplyDelete...and it's nice to see the hummingbird!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about the water in the basement. That's a lot of rain. The art is beautiful. I do like the green.
ReplyDeleteThat's a fun house, and I bet a worm or 2 would love to lie there.I like the hummingbird too. And I'm sorry to read about the rain. AUGH!That is a lot. I hope it doesn't mean you have a huge cleaning job. And I hope you don't keep getting all that much more rain either. It's either flood or drought, isn't it? hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteSorry about the water in the basement. Ack! Not fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever and whimsical idea! I love how you transformed the apple into a house shape, and the little details like the chimney and stamped door make it so fun and imaginative.
ReplyDeleteThe title pulled me in Elizabeth.... very clever... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteNice job!
ReplyDeleteSorry to read about the water in your basement.
ReplyDeleteGoodness you have a record for the wettest June since 1928 and here in the UK we are setting heatwave records!
