Monday Murals: Newton completed

My sincere apologies for not visiting anyone yesterday.  After my meeting on Friday, I purchased a salad at a take out restaurant.  I took it home and ate it.  At the time, it tasted funny, but I thought sometimes they add a spray that keeps the lettuce fresh.  That was not the case with this salad.  Before I had finished it, I was bent over in pain.  I spent the rest of Friday and all day Saturday trying to get well.  I am marginally better, so I hope I just had minor food poisoning.  This has taught me to make my own salads at home using my own ingredients.

It's time once again to join Sami at Sami's Colourful World and her Monday Murals.  Even though it's still Sunday in my world, please be aware that Sami's mural link goes live at 11:01 a.m. my time today.   I had a terrible time linking last week.  I just hope that isn't the case this week.

Didn't this turn out great?  The “Greetings from Newton” mural was installed at the intersection of A and College Ave on the side of the Callahan building.  The artist was Erin Hare.

If you enjoy murals from around the world, please don't forget to visit Monday Murals at Sami's Colourful World.

  2. I skip those salads after Ingo and I both got sick from such in Perth! We bought it at Wollies, "The Fresh Food People". I read warnings for such salads here in Germany, too. Sad, isn´t it?
    Hope you feel better.

    The mural came out wonderfully.
Is it available as postcard? ("Greetings from" just screams for that).

  3. Oh, P.S., what are "the thingies" on the left? I cannot zoom in enough, the red and yellow ones...

  6. As I said about this last week, in the old postcard days I was never that fond of the postcards with the city name spelled out with images in the letters, but I think that motif makes a great mural. Also it's nice to remember the days when people sent postcards from vacation instead of Instagram or FB or Tik-Tok pics. I think today's instant communication is great but it's good to think about where we have been.

It's terrible that your salad was poisoned, and I hope you get over it quickly.

  8. That is awful! I've heard of prepackaged lettuce having issues over the years. Pretty scary.
    Great mural.

  9. That was an ugly experience with the take-out salad! Hope you are regaining now. That kind of sick does leave you feeling very wrung out. Did you notify the store/restaurant? I'm guessing yours was not the only experience. The mural looks even better now. It's so appealing. Feel better.

  14. I've taken to using cold packs and insulated carriers in the car. In this heat food spoils on the way home :( I'm glad you're better.

Love that mural. There's so much to explore.
