Pursue Your Passion for Rain's Thursday Art Date

Today I want to share another journal page for Art Journal JourneyMatilde of Craftowanie is our host this month and her theme is BirdsRain has opened up Thursday Art Date, or TAD so we no longer need to use her prompts unless we choose to.  I thought this would be the perfect time to share another journal page.

It's obvious I named this Pursue Your Passion.  From the sky to the lake, these birds are pursuing their own form of passion.  I have provided some close-ups so you can better see the birds and the background.

Please don't ask what kind of birds these are.  The only one I know is the white swan.  These all came from a gifted book (thanks Erika) I received and from which I fussy cut the birds.  Since it's TAD, maybe David will know.

A couple of weeks ago, I was looking for the receipt to my hot water heater, in case I needed it when I returned the heater.  I have a designated "junk drawer" in my kitchen where I throw receipts I think I might need at a later time, or receipts for meals I have purchased.  It obviously wasn't there (it was stapled to the warranty), but I found a plethora of old receipts dating back to as early as 2002.  Although I threw most of the old receipts away, I saved a few of the more interesting and colorful ones.  I thought they made a different and interesting background.

Thank you beyond belief for taking time to visit today.   Please also join me at Rain's TAD and Art Journal Journey, where the theme this month is Birds.

Before I forget, will anyone be making ICADs this year?  I think it will be my 10th year.

  1. "Pursue Your Passion" is just wonderful, Elizabeth! And "more doing.", too. Mama and Baby side by side.
Oh, lucky you. Our receipts are printed on some thermal paper and the color fades before warranty is gone. You have to scan them all... But good thing - you know where they are!

  3. Love all those different bird species - what a wonderful page celebrating all things avian.

I've missed visiting you all - but there's just been a lot to deal with lately. I hope to be less absent now, and I'm looking forward to some catching up along the way.

  13. Those are fabulous birds on your page. And I like how you used those receipts too. That must have been frustrating looking through all those receipts though. I find it enough when I put one I might need in my wallet and then have to find it. This is a great page. Hope you have a nice FRiday. hugs-Erika

  17. Receipts do indeed make an interesting background. I am sure if I were to go through my husbands drawers I would find receipts dating way, way back. He is adamant about keeping records, a throwback from his earlier engineering days, I think :) Anyway, very clever piece and give Bleubeard a rubbies for me.

  18. Beautiful Elizabeth! ♥ One of those birds must be a Hummingbird, and maybe a Chickadee, but yes, I think David will be able to tell us for sure! ☺

  22. The title of your page is wonderful! I love the birds doing their thing on receipts - one seems to be an eating out receipt so you following your passion? The bird top right is possibly a Storm Petrel - there was a programme on TV last week , the one in the centre looks like our UK Great Tit. I'm not so sure about the others! Hugs, Chrisx
