Since I have a few hours between Monday Murals and T Tuesday, I'm once again joining Wendy, our host this month at Art Journal Journey, with her theme which is Birds. This will be my final entry this month at Art Journal Journey and also at Art Every Day Month or AEDM.
This is a tongue in cheek look at the life
of the early bird.
I hope you can read it.

I think we consider too much the good luck of the early bird and not enough the bad luck of the early worm.
For this page, I began with a colorful background created using various colors of acrylic paint and water soluble crayons. I then sewed the gifted bird-on-a-branch die cut to the page and added the quote attributed to Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Thanks beyond belief for visiting Bleubeard and me today. You still have a few hours to join us in the last few hours before we welcome a new host at Art Journal Journey We sincerely hope to see you one final time at Art Journal Journey with your own take on Birds. Bleubeard and I also want to thank Wendy for her great hosting this month, as well as her wonderful art she shared with us, both at Art Journal Journey and Art Every Day Month. You went over and above, dear Wendy and we thank you.
This is also Day 30 of AEDM, where I created my final journal entry in November for Art Journal Journey. I have also created a mosaic of all art I shared during AEDM this month.
Thanks for sticking with me through this month. I
would also like to thank Leah Piken Kolidas, who hosts this event every
year. I love it and look forward to it each November.
You got a lot done this past month, well done. I feel more like the worm that the bird this morning, let#s hope the day gets better! Have a great week, hugs, Valerie
ReplyDeleteGreat post and colours, Love the style and added goodies. xx
ReplyDeleteA wonderful final page, I love the colours, and that's a great quote too Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteHappy new week,
Alison xx
A lovely colourful page to finish off the month, thank you.
ReplyDeleteHugs Wendy
The event sure inspired you and I may have to join next year! Love your very cool bird page. The words are very thought-provoking. I have sat here for a while thinking of how we value the bird's life in our statement but not the worm's. When applying it to life, it makes me think of how when there is a shortage of something like toilet paper and the early birds get it all what about all the other "birds" who needed it. Greed is ugly. Very interesting. Lovely colors and bird as well. So nicely done and I really like it, Elizabeth. Hugz
ReplyDeleteFun take on the quote. Your journal pages make a beautiful quilt
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this quote. It is a perfect ending of the page. Glad this wasn't an early worm page...or it wouldn't be here, right? Ha-ha. And your mosaic of all the art for November is fantastic. It has been a fun month all around art wise, hasn't it? See you later today online. Hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteHey this is so pretty. I am always so impressed with your art. BTW when I clicked onto your link at AEDM it took me to Nov. 8 post.

Very clever piece and sentiment. Also very colorful and lovely. Poor worm!
ReplyDeleteI remember this poem:
ReplyDelete“Oh, if you’re a bird, be an early bird
And catch the worm for your breakfast plate.
If you’re a bird, be an early early bird--
But if you’re a worm, sleep late.” ―Shel Silverstein
haha that's so funny, very true about the poor early worm! Love your page, and the colours and that you stitched the bird on the branch on too. I also love your mosaic of all the projects you've done this month - a lot of projects realised! Elle xx

ReplyDeleteThis month did go quick, didn´t it? It has been good to see you and your work almost daily this month.
Take care.
I used to say, "The early worm catches the bird."
ReplyDeleteA grand final piece for AEDM, Elizabeth! That quote has a good point...not so lucky for the poor old worm. Your AEDM mosaic looks fantastic! Congrats on completing the month.
ReplyDeleteI have thoroughly enjoyed visiting your blog for AEDM. I've added you to my sidebar so I can continue to visit.
Have a wonderful week,
