If you're like me, you probably won't be eating out a lot for the next few weeks, and possibly months, while COVID-19 rears its ugly head here in the states. Instead, I've decided to bring back how I've spent St. Patrick's Day in the past.
A rainbow of shamrocks graced my dining room table as I shared tea with my dear friend Julia from Stamping Ground who sent this tea to me. It was as delicious as it looked, too.
For this St. Patrick's Day celebration it was all about the green. There was a Leprechaun (pistachio) muffin on a green plate, green kisses, and green tea in a green Depression glass that sat on a green crocheted holder,Now it's your turn to wear the green (or not). You may share photos, a place you visited, an empty cup, a full cup, teapot, or mug, movies, postcards, books, magazines, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink. Regardless, please share below, then Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit. St. Patrick will not be joining us, though. However, Bleubeard would like to remind you that your photos may be taken at any time, not just on Tuesday.
You may have noticed, I'm having trouble staying on the internet. I've contacted my internet provider (AT&T) and they are sending someone out tomorrow (Tuesday) to determine the problem. Hopefully, I'll be around after that. BTW, this seems to happen every time it rains for more than a day in my area. If that isn't bad enough, more rain is predicted for Thursday through Sunday. I may be doing the backstroke if and when I leave my house.

ReplyDeleteYup, the days of going out are going to be on hold. New Hampshire has closed all restaurants except for drive through, pick up or delivery. No eating in. Being in my classroom is done for awhile now too, at least 3 weeks. Scary days are here. But your tea and your muffin both look good. Perfect for the wearing of the green, or the eating and drinking of the green. Hope your day is happy. Hugs-Erika

Nice memories Elizabeth. The pistachio muffin sounds delicious. I'm not a fan of green tea though, I find it too bitter. Enjoy the day.

Difficult times for us all Elizabeth, it was good to see your revisits and the spiced apple sounds a lovely flavour for a tea blend. I hope you don't get to much more rain and that the internet provider can get you on line again. In the more remote parts of the UK the service is poor and could get worse as more folk are told to work from home.

If it’s a green muffin, it must be pistachio! Our local market makes those. The store is appropriately called Murphy’s, and always has a store-wide St. Patrick’s Day Party. Everyone stops by for a slice of green Irish cake, Irish Soda Bread, Irish trinkets like hats, balloons, necklaces, a live roving Irish music band, a harpist, and no one goes home without a Shamrock plant or two. It’s an annual town event, but not this year, sadly. We shall surface on the other side!

But you could have had green tea to make it truly 'green'. I seem to remember you are not a tea person, so it would only have been for the photo, lol.
Now you and Sally will miss going out for lunch, I know I will. It's a sad situation the world is in now. Not good for the economy as many businesses that have had to close might go out of business, if it lasts long (which it might).
I'm glad I live in a small rural community and it is no hardship for us to stay home. (I'm also glad I don't have a tv. I would be sick and tired of all the updates. I read online newspapers from different countries and stay up to date that way)

That muffin looks delicious. I hope you had a nice Saint Patrick's Day Elizabeth. I'm with you about not eating out until the covid-19 situation is under control, which who knows when that will be. I couldn't believe the grocery stores around here still had their open buffet serve yourself type things still in use a week ago. (A small section where they had serving spoons and take out containers to fill with wings, olives, etc. in them.) When I went on Monday, they had finally stopped doing that.
