T Stands For Coffee Anyone?

Before we begin, if you have received one of my tip-ins and/or a small gift from me in the past, I have to apologize.   You know who you are, so I'll get right to it.  My sewing machine had a meltdown, so to speak.  I thought I had it fixed to where it would make it through the holiday, then I lost a screw and now the machine won't sew at all.  Since all my tip-ins and all my art quiltlets require sewing, I have to figure out which size screw I need and try to hunt one down.  That means, except for Halle whose tip-in is on the way, you may or may NOT get your gift before Christmas.

Today we are  meeting in my dining room for T Tuesday.

Because Bleubeard and I are hosting Art Journal Journey this month with our themes My Favorite Season, or 'Tis the Season, we believe any and every season is a good season for coffee.

However, I tried to make this look like a 4th of July celebration

with a background of fireworks and the colors of the U.S.A. flag.  It also works for the British flag.

Although you can't tell, I used white water soluble crayon on the interior of all the cups, including the one on top.  I now realize I should have picked a darker color for the top cup.  Live and learn, I guess.  I cut a template and used it to create the stacked cups and saucer.  I used paint chip samples because they are very heavy.  The background was swiped with various colors of dye ink added to a wet baby wipe.  The computer generated words were colored using water soluble crayons and affixed to the 110 lb card stock using a glue stick.

It's now time for you to share your own drink related post.  Feel free to discuss anything. Your post may include photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, fiber art, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Then, please link your story below.  The photos don't have to be taken on Tuesday, and can relate to anything with a drink.  Please use the direct link to your T post, not your blog in general, so we can find you easily.

Bleubeard and I are so happy you chose to join us for T today and hope you'll also join us at Art Journal Journey where our themes are Favorite Season or 'Tis the Season.

  2. I hope you find the screw for your machine, you use it quite a lot for your art pages.
The page with the cups looks fantastic and I would happily come and join you. It's always the season for a cuppa, although you will guess my first choice would be tea.
The colours for the cups looks wonderful, I love the red one , you also created a super background with the paint swipes.
    Happy T day wishes Elizabeth.

  3. It's always season for coffee and it is always the season for being patriotic. And you don't have toleave me out either as the Dutch flag happens to be red, white and blue.
I hope you can find the missing screw or have you sewing machine repaired. It's only when these things break down you realise how often you use it.
    Happy T-Day,
    Lisca

  9. Oh, no! You have a loose screw!! I don't get along with sewing machines at all! I just had mine out trying to sew on a card and on a scrap page. I got it done, but not without a lot of frustration! Sorry I missed last week! it just comes so fast! :)

  11. I'll skip the coffee, but if you have a clean cup, I brought my own teabag. July or December, I never leave home without a teabag. I love the stacked cups and can only dream of warm (hot!) weather. So sorry to hear about your sewing machine woes. Hope you find the part you need soon. Happy T Day

  13. Hope you find a screw to fit your machine. Vic has a man drawer full of odd screws and he always seems to find one for every that goes wrong.

  19. I'm impressed that you cut out these cups! so cute...glad to be back to visit with you on Tuesday! sorry to hear about your sewing machine! we don't even have a repair shop in our area any more. A sewing machine retailer might be able to order one for you if you give them the make and model number? Or, like most everyone else these days, Google it and order it online.

Hope you are doing well and staying warm. Take care, and do not worry about the holiday pages. To be honest, I completely forgot about that. The Christmas holiday is coming so fast, and I don't know how I can be ready in time! guess what gets done will have to do, and don't sweat the rest. Hugs to you! ♥

  21. The red, white and blue certainly looks festive, though you could also imagine it will just mean lots of washing up! The firework background is full of movement. Shame about the loose screw, but I'm sure your usual recipients will forgive you. Thank you so much for your lovely comments this month - it's a pleasure to read each and every single one. You can probably tell that I'm enjoying your theme!

  23. Sorry to be so late to tea. The winter holiday time is always crazy busy for my business. Better late then never ;-)

You lost a screw, Elizabeth? Oh no (grin)! I love the stacked tea cups page and hope you find the proper size screw quickly.

    Belated Happy T-Day! Eileen xoxo
