What's On Your Workdesk this Independence Day Wednesday?

This is my work desk as I join Julia at Stamping Ground for Independence Day in the U.S..

This was actually taken yesterday as I was writing out plans for a complete yard makeover.   I was also making plans for Independence Day, which is today in the U.S.

The important items are my metallic Gelli Roll pens and my adorable rocking horse, brought to me from a friend when she went to India.  It's a lovely and proud stuffed animal.

Thanks for visiting, and if you are coming from Julia's please leave your number.  However, I have encountered a couple of deskers (including Zsuzsa Karoly-Smith whose art I adore) who are only on G+ and Instagram, which I'm not members of.  I'll visit, but can't leave comments.

  9. Well I wish I could come and help and learn...I’m reclaiming our garden from our neglect, but apart from making it tidy, don’t really know what i’m doing. Sounds familiar by now! what’s the motivation for a whole yard makeover then? crikey that’ll be some work Miss Elizabeth! Happy Imdependence day, I wonder if you have a celebratory plan for that too!

  11. Happy 4th of July!! Great little rocking horse - it's fun to plan a garden makeover isn't it? I have completed everything I want to do in our backgarden but have had to put planting on hold due to this amazing heatwave we are having in the UK. But I'm not complaining! Still looks great. 12. As I write this there is a helicopter flying overhead (very noisy) on its way to Winter Hill. I love the sun but do wish we could have some rain to help those poor firefighters.
Happy Independence Day to you and Squiggles and, of course, to Bleubeard (with an additional tickle for him). (Thank you for the purr and meaow)
Love your little Indian rocking horse.

  13. happy Independence Day - wish we could celebrate St George's Day with such gusto! I do but the neighbours - they live in Britain!!!!!
Do share your final plans for the garden with us, my garden had to be changed round to accommodate chickens, so I lost any sort of 'plan'.
    Have a good week

  16. Good luck making garden-plans... I found that very difficult to do so I'm pleased that I now have a balcony - not too small but not too large eather - I somehow 'do better with pots' ;) Happy Independence Day! Hug from Holland, Marit #22

  19. Hi Elizabeth, ear scritches to Bleubeard. I've linked Sarah, thank you! Garden makeover going on here too. We keep getting started, then I've ended up with hospital & recovery time so much over the last few years, we fall behind again. Doug has a lot of tree branches from the Clubhouse next door to chop off in the winter. Happy Independence Day! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #2 XxX

  31. Happy Independence Day Elizabeth. I was a bit surprised to see you posting, thought you'd be too busy celebrating. I look forward to seeing your yard makeover. I noticed you said you can't leave comments at Zsuzsa's. I can only leave comments there if I use Chrome, Google wont let me do it. Don't know if that is any help but there are some others like that. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x10x

  41. What a lovely desk to celebrate Independence Day, Elizabeth, with those pretty candles and such an unusual and beautiful little rocking horse! I'm always fascinated by your rocking horses. Thank you for your lovely comment and I'm glad that you enjoy following the antics of our kitties as they grow up. They are such fun and endlessly entertaining with their funny little ways. Never a dull moment! The fete was such fun, and an event not to be missed each summer. Village fetes are so much part of country life in the UK, and I always find them a most enjoyable day out.

    Happy WOYWW,

  45. An adorable rocking horse. A lovely gift. Our brains must be on the same train. While I'm not working on a backyard makeover I have taken pictures of my garden shed and am making plans for a re-design/ redecorating this fall. The space is nothing like I envisioned 6-8 years ago when it was built. Time to fix that... just as soon as the temperatures cool down. Are you sweltering over there? Creative Blessings! Kelly #29

  48. What a lovely setting, Elizabeth! Can I just say I love your handwriting! There's something very vintage about it! I would give an arm for handwriting like that - though then I wouldn't be able to hold the pen LOL! Thank you for mentioning me (it made me feel all important, haha!) - I've only just seen it. Sarah Brennan gave me your email address, so I'll send you one in a minute. Happy belated #474 zsuzsa #26
