I'm once again joining my dear friend Chris whose blog is Pear Shaped Crafting. Her theme is Art for art's sake and she wants us to focus on various techniques which we don't often use.
Once again, this page I created using watercolor pencils took two days to complete, but I finally finished it. 
It was removed from a Dover coloring book (probably purchased in the early 2000s). 
I was most impressed with the way the eye turned out, although the entire eye was there before I started coloring it. Again, don't look too closely because you can always tell when my hand is getting tired.Thanks again for this fun theme, Chris. I wish I had participated more, because I really love your theme. ReplyDeleteShe is amazing Elizabeth, I love that element of intrigue and feel she is just as beautiful behind the mask. I find using pencil so calming and often lose myself in artwork whilst using them. LOVE her.

ReplyDeleteI agree with you about the eye. It is amazing. Your colored pencils have the most vibrant colors. Especially how deep the yellow color is. ReplyDeleteLove these "doodles". I actually started coloring in a book on butterflies and birds a student gave me after I saw your last examples. It really is very relaxing.

ReplyDeleteWow, Elizabeth! You can REALLY draw! This is such a fab face and the hair is absolutely amazing, but what I like best about it is the variation in colour you've managed to achieve. Simply gorgeous. I'm trying to decide if she's feeling spiteful, after revenge, or if she's a little nervous...both would fit that look in her eye... or maybe she's just plain old having fun :-)
