As I'm sure you can tell, I'm once again joining Gill at Gibby Froggett Craftations, this month's host at Art Journal Journey. Her theme is Inspired by . . . .
I love using security envelopes in my art. 
They have so many designs, and those windows are perfect for placing papers behind.
Adding a bit of washi tape livens up the envelopes. 
"Your security is most important to me."
Is the woman telling a friend this,
or is she the one who is being warned?
I sewed two security envelopes together, both of which had different designs. I then glued them to my large art journal. I added washi tape and sewed various papers/leftovers behind the envelope windows. A piece of scrap ribbon was sewn to the two pages where they met. The sentiment, computer generated, was outlined using a blue sharpie marker. The TH paper doll was the final element, added using two pop dots to hold her slightly away from the background. I used blue variegated thread to sew everything in place. I am truly grateful you joined me today, and I also hope to see you at Art Journal Journey.

The security envelopes, the amazing machine stitches along with the variegated thread and the washi and the fitting phrase not just perfect to the page but also perfect to the new EU data protection basic regulation ...hihi!

This is fabulous Elizabeth. I had a chuckle when I saw the words thinking back a couple of weeks when I was getting so stressed at the GDPR thing :)
ReplyDeleteThe envelopes were a great idea - and the lady looks like she is standing guard to me. ( I really must use my TH dolls - I've taken them out the packet, looked at them and put them back).
But it was your fantatsic sewing and different stitches once again that really impressed me most of all - wow!!!!

I would never have thought about using security envelopes. I like the way your variegated thread and zig zag stitching brings out the pattern of the envelope. I think your miss has been on the phone on hold forever and is exasperated listening to the security recording.

Very cool Elizabeth! I have used these in journals as well but I usually cut a hole so the pages before and after show through. Love your stitching as always!
