Treats of the season

Greetings all.  Today is the winter solstice.  It means days will get longer again.  It is also a dear friend's birthday.  I promise not to mention any names, Valerie.

If you are hungry, this spread I created in my Challenges altered book might possibly make you hungrier.

As I'm sure you know by now, I'm once again joining Sheila at Orange Esmeralda, our wonderful host this month at Art Journal Journey with her theme Let's Celebrate.   And because this is definitely Christmas inspired, I'm also joining Moo-Mania & More

We'll make some cookies,

cut a slice of Christmas cake, and even grab a peppermint stick.

Believe it or not, all these collage images and elements came from a Numismatics holiday catalog.

I am very grateful you visited today.  And I hope you will also join me at Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania & More.  You'll find some of the finest mixed media and collage art there.  And I hope you stop by and wish the birthday girl a happy 21st or so birthday, too.

  5. Yum! (Once again). I'm not hungry but now I want some gingerbread cake. Keep your fingers crossed we get a snow day tomorrow so I can stay home and bake, then I can make one of those gingerbread cakes. Did you manage to find the spirit yet? I am starting to get excited myself, and am ready for vacation too. Happy Thursday. Hugs-Erika

  11. Happy Winter Solstice! I have hope we'll soon have more sunshine, but it's been dreary/overcast/foggy here :( I look forward to the sun shining -or maybe some snow to make the clouds seem worthwhile ;)

I want to thank you so very much for the beautiful Christmas tree(t) card and GORGEOUS Paris fabric art!!! Oh my it just takes my breath away, especially knowing you made it so personal and with love and friendship. I appreciate the wishes from Bleubeard and Squiggles too:) Will share it (if that's OK with you) the next time I post.

  13. Happy Solstice! Love the page. There's a cool optical illusion with the reindeer. He's looking at the almond, and then opens his mouth to eat it. :-D fun!
