Two challenges and a new altered book

It suddenly occurred to me there were two challenges I wanted to enter (no prizes or accolades, just a show of support) before the deadline on Tuesday.

The first is a tag I created for the current host Wilma and Tag Tuesday's challenge All Creatures Great and Small.  I especially wanted to do this so I could say good-bye to my dear friend Chrissie who is leaving the team.

Can you believe I actually stamped on this tag I created from leftover card stock I used on my Halloween card.  I thought the background was perfect, so cut the piece in the form of a tag.  I added the hole protector after I stamped the two Stampin' Up (dated 2000) images I bought several years ago at a thrift store.

Although I am not fond of my hand writing (or printing), at least you can make out the words "We are family."

And because I couldn't figure a way to make Moo-Mania & More's latest Automobile challenge fit any other challenge,

here is the very first entry I made in my latest altered book.  I call it "Challenges," and the first entry is called

Boys and their Toys.   Note the texture I tried to get when I added the acrylic craft paint.

The image of the little boy in his toy truck was in my stash.

I added the date because I wanted to know when I started this new altered book.

Materials include my new Challenges altered book, acrylic paint, a printed image, and a Sharpie.

Thanks for joining me today at Tag Tuesday and Moo-Mania & More.  Hope to see you both places, but I also want to thank you for your visit this Sunday.

  7. I absolutely love the boys and their toys page – it reminds me of my brother and the toy car he used to career around in. It wasn’t as smart as the one in your picture, but he loved it and my sister and I quickly learnt to get out of his way. Have a good new week x

  21. Oh I do like this tag, the black on the orange and the two animal friends. Actually I think your printing fits the tag perfectly and would actually make a great font, I would use it. It has a free look to it.
"Boys and their toys" is fun and your painted background is great as it makes it look as if the car is moving.

  22. I love both of these (the zoo and little boy with the truck) so much. I love the colors, the thought behind it and your technique with the color and all is terrific. I like the printing and really appreciate how you are able to work so much texture in.
