I'm burned out

I'm burned out.

Really burned out.

It's time to take a much needed break.

I want my craft room to look like this (minus the heater, of course) again, before I start any new projects.

I want to play in my basement studio, but first I must get it looking like this again.

I need to get my head on straight.   I need to not feel like the world is swallowing me.  I need to help my friend's children pack to prepare for their move to California.

I also want to take my art in a new direction.  I want to explore new avenues.  But to do that, I need a well deserved very, very short break.  A break from the computer, even though I just got back online.

I won't be gone long.  Just a few days, in fact.  So, please do come back, because I'll be here on Sunday.   Thanks for understanding and for your continued support.  And in case I failed to mention it, I also appreciate your comments and your understanding through these trying times.

  3. Take as long as it takes to feel like the real YOU again Elizabeth. We will still be here waiting for you. I look forward to you appearing again on my Reading List and the time that takes is fine by me. I am away next week so don't think I have gone forever

    Love and hugs Chrissie xx

  4. Take all the time you need Elizabeth. We all understand what you have been coping with recently, it is never easy to look after yourself when others need you more.

  5. It is always good to take time out; sometimes I think technology has a habit of running our lives. We used to live by the clock, now it is by the computer! With all you have going on at the moment, the computer can take a back seat. I just moved my computer into the kitchen as my living room is being decorated. I should have just said "do without it". Sending hugs. Kay

  10. Have a good break Elizabeth. You deserve it. I know it's very difficult as you are helping your friend's kids and also grieving your own loss of your friend. Be kind to yourself. My studio would never look that clean by the way, and I'm not sure I'd know what to do if it did. Take care dear friend. We'll see you when you're ready.

  11. Hope its a wonderful break and you get your recharge. I love the fact you got to have a little outdoor fire. Not only perfect for your post but also for the fun of it. I can't wait until we here in my house get healed and do the same. :) Oh the nice weather! Hope none of those tornadoes are in your neck of the woods. I'll miss you too and will be glad when you are back. Hope this break has a little or a lot of fun built in too. Hugs-Erika

  12. Enjoy your well deserved break Elizabeth.
My study looks so messy at the moment too, that I also think I shouldn't be spending time on the computer at all, but I'm just procrastinating...

  13. It's important to step away from time to time to regain a fresh perspective. I have to do that in my sewing room also- it gets overwhelming with all the "stuff". Clear the deck and see you when you get back.

  19. I have always found that with the death of a loved one comes some sort of renewal. It is an odd thing. But I have experienced it enough times now to know. First, there is the needed break. You have to take it. And then seeds of hope pop out slowly. You have been through a lot......rest and renew. Your friend would want that for you.

  20. My mantra: You own the blog. It doesn't own you. You've had a boatload of stress these days -- just tons. And it's hard to get your creative juices going when a) you are pulled in so many directions and b) your space isn't the way you want it to be. (I spent much of my recovery organizing my art room/office and I'm still working on it but will share soon). You'll get yours and be glad for the time off.

Take time to relax along that too. Read a book or watch a movie or take a walk or do something you just love and never have enough time to do. And don't worry, we'll all see you on the other side!

  23. Hello Elizabeth. it sounds like you need a really big hug just now, so here it is - BIG HUG!!!!
You've had a stressful time, of course you need some peaceful space to sort out what needs to be sorted.
Most of us have a blogging break now and again, and no-one deserves it more than you with all your challenges and commenting and making art and blogging.
Come back just when it is right for you.
    lots of love
    Sheila
and a message to Bleubeard and Squggles - look after Elizabeth, she needs you just now.
