I seem to be batting zero on my gift giving/making this year.
I started with four white 4 in (10,16 cm) square tiles, a foam brush, 
chalkboard paint I found at my Household Hazardous Waste Swap and Shop, and my isopropyl alcohol (91%).
I was looking forward to covering these tiles with the chalkboard paint.
But first, I had to clean the tiles (using the alcohol) of any grease, dust, or fingerprints they might have on them. 
After I shook the chalkboard paint a bit, I opened it using an opener. Then I spread the paint on, not realizing the bubbles were not going to pop. More tomorrow.

ReplyDeleteOh, Elizabeth! How frustrating! I hope you think of it as "texture." I wonder what a sanding would do -- probably mess up the paint. Can't wait to see how you move ahead!

I wouldn't say bating zero unless you want smooth tiles. I love the bubble effect. Very artsy. At least you are getting to some Christmas art gifts. :) The hubby still can't drive and he is needing to get out every day for his mental health. So that's what I've been doing, but today my daughter is taking him out, hurrah. Maybe a little art time is on my list! :) Enjoy the end of this holiday weekend. Hugs-Erika
