It seems like this scrappy journal project has taken forever, but it is finally time to finish it. Originally, I was going to punch holes and add eyelets to the center of the journal, then realized I didn't need to. I am going to simply punch a hole using my self-healing mat, a hammer, and a reaming tool.
I have now punched the hole through the layers of fabric and batting
and reamed the hole enough to get a piece of wire through it (Yes, my nails are that long).
I did the same a small distance below the first hole and wound the wire through the holes.
This is how it looks from the outside of the scrappy journal cover.
Next it was time to add the two signatures to the inside of the scrappy journal.
The two signatures, fraught with peril and mishaps, were finally in place and the wire was ready for me to add the embellishment I worked on for two days.
Two broken needles, one bent beyond belief, happened within minutes of each other.
I added a key to the outside that would close the journal,
then I added the embellishment
I had worked on to tie the entire project together. However, my friend Scott dropped by and I showed the project to him.
It was at that time, I realized the key would not work well as a way to close the journal. So I removed the key
and placed a button underneath it. 
Now it works like a charm. I can also proudly say this journal is complete.

The journal came out fantastic Elizabeth. It will be a great gift for certain. I like how you added the key and the loop to keep it shut. :) So I woke up this morning to about 2 inches of snow. Oh my. Winter has arrived a little early. :) Not sure I am happy about that as they are saying there are accidents all over the roadways. Have a super Monday. Hugs-Erika
