Craft Barn Challenge 11: Mountain and Mistake

This fortnight's Craft Barn challenge words are Mountain and Mistake.  This time I chose lyrics instead of a quote.

Not my best entry, but I have to be ready to leave town unexpectedly in less than three hours, so I wanted to get this finished before I leave.  I'll be checking in occasionally, though.

Even though I have no step out or detail shots this time, I think you can see the lyrics are "She'll be coming 'round the mountain when she comes."  According to Wikipedia, this song with many variations is often considered a children's song and spiritual in nature.  It has been sung by many famous singers, including Pete Seeger and Neil Young.  The song may date back to the late 1800s.

For this challenge, I used a file folder as my substrate, a magazine image, computer generated words of the lyrics, and pigment inks.

Once again, I've visited everyone for the 10th challenge, including Fiona in Spain whose G + blog won't let me post, and those who post to Facebook, where I'm not a member.  Thank you all for your continued support, and I'll try to be around to visit you during this coming week, too.

  3. Hello Elizabeth! Sorry to hear you had to rush somewhere, hope it's not bad news. Thank you for the comment on my blog, we have lost pets too and it's hard each time. She was huge and had a huge heart.

I love your May calendar and May pole, what a cute idea!!
I think the June one needs blues and greens and pink on it for Summer, nice bright colors!

Read your other posts below and love the art and your garden/yard are looking GREAT!!! You do such good work in your yard, so impressed.

I will link up on Tuesday for T Time since tomorrow is too busy for me. Oh and I had internet issues these past 3 days too, YUCK!!

Take care and see you soon.
p.s. you commented about not liking summer on my post. I don't like summer too much either, the heat bothers me. But, after that long very cold winter I'm happy to have it here and going to try not to complain since we know it won't last long. I love FALL and could have fall all year and be happy!
