Journal 52, week 15: Party Animal

This week over at Journal 52, Chelle's prompt was Party Animals.  We were to (and I quote Chelle): "make a page about your favorite animal…party hat optional."

Many of you can probably guess who the party animal is in my house.  He's also the party animal of this blog, and the subject of this week's prompt.  Note his cool party hat.  Yep, he's ready to party with the best of them, even though the hat barely fits his ears.

I used the same image Kathy drew for me.  Doesn't she do excellent work? I love how he looks in this pose. The substrate for this page was one of my file folders cut in half.  I splashed some blue paint on the page and added the word "Party" and the number "15" to signify this was the 15th Journal 52 prompt.

For the hat, I used a large paint chip sample I cut to size and attempted to stamp on.  The words are "celebrate" and "shine," which Bleubeard is doing at the moment.  It's fairly obvious I can't stamp, and this paint chip was especially difficult to get a good image because of its slippery surface.  To complete the hat, I added a small strip of rick rack I got at the thrift store some years ago.

This is Day 14 of 22, where I recycled a file folder, and repurposed a paint chip sample.  Sometimes recycling can be incorporated in many ways, including challenges you (and I) enter each week. Thanks for visiting, because this is the only place you'll see my genuine Party Animal.
