WOYWW 209: The one with the ATC reveal

The reveal of the ATCs will take up so much time, I'm not showing a rocking horse OR a desk this week.  In fact, there is nothing coming out of my puny camera.  I thought I should add that all the ATCs were originally put through various Photoshop (PS) filters.  I'm always amazed at how many filters my very old PS program has to offer.  If you don't know what WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday) is all about, head over to Julia's and prepare to get sucked into this Wednesday legalized stalking event.

Some of you may remember I made a few of these for my British friends (who I insist are NOT allowed to reciprocate). These ladies have gone above and beyond for me.  In fact I hinted in comments I left on their blogs last week that, although I could not be at the WOYWW crop, I would be there in spirit.

Receiving these ATCs were Helen (H), Donna (Doone), Jo (JoZart) and Jan (LLJan)Julia got one, too.  Just BECAUSE.  When unveiled, these ATCs went from this

to this.  I began with my handmade color misted pages, then sewed around the letters, which I cut to size, then placed in the shape of a "4" over dictionary pages from the "W" section.

This one I made for Voodoo Vixen (Annette).  It hasn't even left my house yet and I've already received one from her all the way from Australia!!  It went from this

to this.  Basically the same, but this time, the letters were cut first, then sewed around.  Same premise with the "4" and "W" section of the dictionary, but this 4 has a wonky leg.

This one, made for my PIF, went from this

to this.  Same as the one I made for Annette, this one went to Spyder.  I was thrilled it was Spyder, because of all the times I've played in WOYWW, Lyn (Spyder) has always, always, without exception, left a comment for me.  It's actually an honor to send this to her.  I chose this for Spyder because the "4" was a bit straighter.  Not saying Annette is wonky, but . . . .

I mentioned I liked this image more than the actual ATC I made for Julia, which went from this

to this.  I started with 5 crowns and no sewing.  Continued with "W" words from the dictionary, this time with the words "work bench,"  "work-a-day," and "worker" showing.  I liked how the word "worker" included "one who works for a cause."  And no one works harder for WOYWW than our dear Julia.

I was lucky to find the postage stamp.  I tried to stencil "Hail our Queen," but the stencil, although the right size, was made of dark plastic I couldn't see through.  So the stenciling was a bit of a bust hit and miss!

Luckily, all these wonderful British WOYWWers, except Spyder, have now received their ATCs.  Again, thanks ladies.  You are super.

As always, please leave your number if you are visiting from Julia's.  It makes it so, so much easier to find you.

  11. Took me a while to "see" the "4"s on your ATCs but got there in the end. What a great idea to use "W" dictionary paper.

I too met Dawn & Karen through your AB course last year and Dawn told me about Karen being up here LAST YEAR so I met her then and got to meet Dawn as well this year, so all thanks to you. BJ#22

  25. Great work. I know most of your readers know how small and ATC is but such results (with sewing) on something so small impresses me.

  29. Hi Elizabeth, gorgeous ATC's. I love what you can achieve with some of the filters on PS- I made some background sheets once, by using the spray can tool to add colour, then using various filters to get blurry images. Worked a treat. Hugs to Bleubeard, Have a great week, Hugs Shaz xx #33
