WOYWW 170: the teaser edition

It's been two weeks since I joined Julia at Stamping Ground for this weekly international gathering of like-minded artists, so there was no way I could stay away any longer.

On my desk today you see both hand-dyed fabric and hand-painted paper, both of which I've been playing with lately. Of course, the gesso and black Staz-On ink pad are always there.

I know most of you came to see what rocking horse I would show tonight, and here is a cute plastic pink, blue, and white rocker. I found it when I was cleaning out a box of goodies my friend Kathy sent me several months ago and I failed to deal with until today.

Also on my desk is a sneak peek of something I'm working on.

Sorry I can't reveal it yet, but this blurry shot may reveal more than you think. Have a great WOYWW and I'll try to visit tonight and tomorrow, which will actually be Wednesday in Bleubeard's and my world!

  8. Elizabeth, I'm so glad to hear from you - thanks for dropping by my blog! I actually tried to look at yours this weekend but I got a message that your blog had been removed. Yikes - I was really hoping nothing was wrong!

Yes I did get to see some of Toronto - it is a great city, but unfortunately I was stationed in an outlying area so I could really only go on weekends. Also got to see Niagara Falls, which was amazing. I saw lots of great art galleries in Toronto, and hope to get back in the 'groove' now that I've been home for a few weeks.

I will check back on this mystery art work another day - I'm loving the colours already!

    Cindy :)

  14. Like Rita, I thought it might be polymer clay, or could it be fabric on something??? Got me really stumped. I love your fabric and paper colouring.

I think those might be altered dominoes, or mosaic tiles, or, no... I don't have a clue. I like the blues and greens though.
Your hordie is winging his way to you and should reach you pretty soon, I thjink. That is if the South African postal service didn't get hold of him, then it might take a while.

  37. Ah, my friend..I don't get as much done as you think...for example, I haven't visited you in an aeon! I thought at first you'd made a lovely board to hold your inky sponges, but of course, why would you hide that. And then..well, you don't do a lot of that sort of thing and really you like to use other media and hmmm, golly if it's not felt, could it be fimo? I don't know. But I love the colours I can see, really rich. My neice from CA is over this week and so i've been adding miles to my car, trying to fit in as much of her as I can..she's been living in Australia so that has severely cramped my visiting..I only get to CA about one in 4 years, and it's been 18 since I went to Sydney! She's made such an effort to come and spend time with my parents bless her, after Dad's scare in Turkey and Mum's rapid spiral into dementia, we're all afraid it will be her last chance. Although of course, M&D are incredibly well...just not as capable as they once were. So it's been quite a week here! Still with you at number one on the list, the balance seems a little restored!!
