What's On Your Workdesk, Wednesday #128

This week I am hanging out with Julia at Stamping Ground in my basement studio. I've added a few things since the last time we were all together, including

my cordless phone, something new to the studio, and this heater I purchased last Thursday.

I even plugged it in to make sure it worked properly.

In addition to the new phone and heater, I added the massager to the chair. I saw the chair massager on someone's blog (maybe Shaz's, but probably/possibly not) and remembered a friend had given me her mother's. I finally have a place for it. The only disadvantage is all those electrical cords and massager control panel. Only my heat gun's cord is hidden. At least the heater doesn't need to be connected until winter actually sets in.

To make things more cozy and enjoyable, I further adjusted the chair to a lower height, which works well with this thinner desk "counter top." Now I might even sit to work on occasion.

Most of you have seen the rocking horse clock. I found a place for it, along with a couple more rocking horses, one of which is a rocking carousel horse.

Speaking of clocks, I had to get rid of the one that was badly damaged by rust. The entire unit was rusty. But the one above is functional, at least. I originally had my glue tower on that shelving, but the shelving is too unstable, so had to find another place for it. I'll show you next week where I put it.

OK, the desk is a bit boring this week, but I hope you weren't too disappointed with the mini tour. And for those of you who are new to my blog, the microwave is for dyeing fabric, and making other art related projects, and not really for cooking meals. Don't forget to visit Julia for more links this week.

My hubby also got that kind of a massager as a Father´s Day present from our elder daughter and her hubby - and also we have problems to find a place for it. It´s now on the sofa :)

  11. Great idea with the chair! I need one in my studio.

In my neck of the woods (Australia) we have been experience a sudden heat wave, the sheer thought of someone else putting a heater on in their studio baffled me, until I realised you must be in another part of the world.

    Happy WOYWW.

  12. It feels very right seeing you at number one! - Warms the cockles of a girls heart seeing you there especially as the weather cools. What's the difference in use between your basement craftroom and the one up top (so to speak)?

ah, Elizabeth well done on being numero uno this week - and also for the grand tour of your establishment - great chair set-up etc.
I do so love the rocking horses you have - when we were little a friend in the corner house had a real fair dinkum rocking horse and how popular was she? only remember ever getting to ride it once though was about six years at the time so might be a wee while ago! Happy WOYWW! Shaz in oz.x

Every once in a while, I walk though my "someday" studio space and remind myself that I won't be working in the living room forever....anyway, it's always a treat to me to see how others organize their art spaces- I LOVE all those shelves above your desk and all those homey touches with your rocking horses et al, I can totally see you creating to your heart's content here!

  60. Hi, me again... I'm afraid I'm being even worse than you at following people this week. I am suffering badly with a flu-y throat infection and am just about keeping my head above water...

  61. Your little studio is becoming a real home from home Elizabeth, with all the extra cosy comforts you’re adding to it..
I keep looking at those chair massager myself but I’ve managed to resist the temptation up till now. The little heater looks good though.
I sit right alongside a largish window in my craft room and although there’s a radiator under it you can still feel the cold coming off it. When I’m working in the evenings I’ve started to tuck the curtains down behind it to keep the chill off but maybe I need to invest in a little heater like yours.

Thanks for stopping by this week.
    Happy Crafting!
