Breakfast (tea) at the kitchen table

Before I begin today, I want to say how deeply sorry I am to learn about all the destruction in Joplin, MO., where I lived in one of its suburbs before moving to Wichita. I have several friends who still live in and around Joplin, so I hope they are all OK. Sunday was a very sad day.


Today I am having Brisbane Breakfast flavored black Tea which came all the way from Australia from Gayle at Bliss and Gesso. Unfortunately, Gayle is on vacation this week, so she won't be joining us for tea.


A few weeks ago (yes, I NEVER forget a comment, Julia) I was asked about drinking my tea with milk/cream. Since I'm such a big fan of 1/2 and 1/2 for my coffee, I decided to use it in my tea today,


which I'm enjoying at my kitchen table this dark and early Tuesday morning. I'm especially for of this new tea infuser, which I found recently. It's a spoon and infuser all in one. Please enlarge for a better view.

    And yes, that tornado and it's destruction was truly heartbreaking....there really are no words. I hope your friends are ok.

    Many prayers are being said for all of the tornado and 'weather' victims. It's been a brutal spring. Mother Nature has NOT been kind.

    Your tea is lovely this morning, Elizabeth. Whenever I see "blue", I think of my darling Grandmother. It was her favorite color, and she'd have coveted your placemat!!! Happy Tuesday! Hugs, Terri xoxo

    I just heard about the damage in Joplin today and they are saying more bad weather is expected. It sure is a crazy year weatherwise. Your items today would fit in nicely with my blue and white kitchen. Hope you are having a good day. Tammy

    We are in disbelief as we watch the news .... And I thought of you and hope you will be ok in the coming weeks. The bad weather is plaguing the entire midsection of the country!

    Thanks for visiting my blog. I, too, am just heartsick at the destruction in Joplin. Quite a number of years ago, a tornado hit Limon, Colorado and destroyed my sister-in-law's house. It was heart wrenching to see the destruction and my heart goes out to everyone.

    It is heart breaking seeing the news reports about the tornado..how frightening to be caught up in something like that.. I hope your friends are safe.

    I'm back!! Your tea setting looks lovely, first thing I did when I got home was put the kettle on and make tea!! It's never quite the same when you are away...
    We toured the Katrina area of New Orleans while we were there and it was horrific... my thoughts are with the people of Joplin.

    Nothing like tea that traveled from far away!
    So sad for the people in Joplin. And this is EARLY in the tornado season! We are on the alert ourselves (4 hours north of Joplin)
