For the 8th consecutive week in a row, I can claim this button created by Nikki specifically for Julia's What's On Your Workdesk (table) Wednesday, that insanely popular blog hop that seems to grow in popularity each week. For week 69, there were over 140 participants. Sadly, my lack of artistic motivation led to me not finishing my appointed WOYWW rounds until Monday. But finish I did. This week, I may not be able to, since I have so many deadlines and I'm still in one of those dry spells, where nothing comes easy.Since Julia loved the larger look to my photos, here is what I did. I saved the photos off site and at 600 pixels. However, once they were off site, they came into my blog bigger than big. If you want to see the full image, you will need to click on the photos (once for "normal" size, twice for details). That's the curse of saving them this way, no matter how small I save them. At least you will get a really good snoop today!
So what's on my desk? In front are some old book pages I just colored using the Golden Fluid Acrylic and a bit of water to create a watercolor effect. Directly behind that are some book page strips I've glued to heavy cardstock. WOYWWendy is holding a container of nails I'm rusting in vinegar and salt. Directly behind Wendy are two ornamental peppers I'm drying to use in an assemblage.
At the back of my desk are some painted strips I'll be cutting into various geometric designs for a Geometric themed ATC swap. You can see I've already played with a pattern. My ATC backs are semi hidden underneath.
These papers look dry, so all that's left is to
show one of my rocking horses,
then bag what I need to put these two projects together. And, if you have time, please let me know if you prefer photos this size or the smaller ones.Today's blog is one I discovered during WOYWW. Cath at Inky Fingers was playing when I first "met" her and fell in love with her style. Although she mostly only has time for making cards right now, since a return to University eliminates her art and blogging time, she has made ATCs, tags, altered recipes, and will stamp anything that doesn't move for more than 5 seconds! In answer to your question, indexing on a clear stamp is where the manufacturer inks it up so they can a) check the quality, and b) see what stamp it is when it's displayed on a shelf. The stamps I have in particular are by Clarity Stamp, and she leaves the indexing on so it's easier for the folks buying to see what they're getting. Cheap nail polish remover gets the ink off perfectly, cos it's neither water nor alcohol based! Apparently expensive nail polish remover doesn't work because it's not neat acetone... go figure.
