What's On Your Worktable Wednesday # 67

It's Wednesday and time to head on over to Julia's Stamping Ground to join the snoopy madness that transpires each week.

Thanks to Nikki for her latest button. I snagged it since I can brag for the 5th week in a row, I made it to all the desks again this week, although it took me into the weekend to do it. Blogger and I don't seem to like each other much, and my biggest problems come from the sites where comments are embedded at the end of the posts like mine, only with the security word enabled.

Remember last week when I left the paper to rust? Some asked where the rocking horses were. Look closely at the lamp shade on the right and the teeny tiny Christmas decoration on the left. I don't think this particular picture will enlarge, since I linked it from last week's post. However, the rest will.

After ONE day, the papers were ready. I removed the protective bag, separated the pages (which I forgot to mention last week), and allowed them to dry. Remember to use protective gloves while doing this.

Late yesterday afternoon, the vinegar smell was mostly all gone, and I sprayed the pages with a sealer. You can also use cheap aerosol hairspray. Again, wear gloves when handling the unsealed pages. Once sealed on both sides, they are safe to handle.

I made it easy for you to see the rocking horse today. It's a glass candy dish.

It only took about five minutes to clean up the mess on my table so I can start my next project and try for a 1/10 rating again this week from Kate.

WOYWWendy and I have filled the candy bowl, so please help yourself to some before leaving. Just be sure to place your candy wrapper in the trash container as you leave, please!

This week's blog is Peggy AplSeeds. She and her sister Patsy, both long time WOYWWers, live in the Philippines. Peggy spends her free time drawing lovely artwork that represents her home, places she visits, and faces that are incredibly lifelike. Her drawings and paintings are stunning. I hope you'll stop by Peggy's WOYWW desk today.

  15. Your paper pile is just fantastic and just to create the paper alone it's a thing of patience.
You sport your new button well it's getting harder to visit everyone ... I remember when it was a short list and I could beat Wipso .. NOT!! lol

  16. Great snoop, thanks Elizabeth! I spied the dish was a RH but what's that on the last pic? A piglet?? Do they get on together?
Your 6 tiny RHs are well on their way across the pond so hope will be with their friends ASAP.
I was using wire wool as an abrasive to clean something and it rusts so quickly that I thought of you. Also it will be fine shreds to mark the paper/fabric. Might be interesting and I'm going to try it out.

  18. I'm really surprised how clearly you can see those figures, I was expecting it to be more of an... abstract - for want of a better word - pattern that they left behind. Where'd u get them from, were they garden ornaments or summat originally?

  19. Loved the end of the "rusting" story! Great tutorial! Thank you so much! The glass rocking horse is so lovely!

  56. The papers are gorgeous! Can't believe how quickly you got tidy! I'm STILL trying to clear my desk. My OH came in, took one look at the carnage and scuttled out to his shed. I tried to point out that at least my shelves are tidy to his retreating back... somehow don't think he cares :D

  85. Hi Elizabeth

I haven't posted my desk this week, but it was a pleasure coming to visit yours. especially to see that Wendy is keeping an eye on your space overlooking your tidy desk...

the rocking horse dish needs filling up with some more candy - or did you have a full one before the photo and you and wendy ate it all!!

    'see' you soon, take care

  86. Wow, you've done brilliantly visiting all the desks - I do try, but don't often make it past fifty!

The journal pages are fabulous, simply fabulous. One day I will definately have a go at something like this, but I feel rather intimidated by it - it's so outside anything I've done before - but the effects are great, so I should really just get stuck in and try!

  90. wow 94 comments before me, I am no 118 and i am returning your visit, those pages look fab now what are you going to do with them now :)

  91. It took you 5 minutes to tidy your table? I'm sorry but, despite loving your art and your blog, I hate you. I favour the push and shove technique! But those papers are gorgeous.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Wow, Elizabeth, I always learn so much from visiting your blog. For instance, I didn't know Peggy and Patsy were sisters! I hadn't seen the new WOYWW button until you posted it (which means I need to pop on over to Nikki's site - I am SO behind - this has been a tough, busy week!) - and, of course, there are always the new and fabulous artsy things you post! I always scan through everything on my visits so it takes forever to go thru everyone's blog (probably why I won't be posting that new badge anytime soon!) But, your muse has been on overtime as of late, it appears!

MISS Bluebeard (seems like awhile since he has made a Wed appearance!) I think I missed the rocking horse too although it's 50-50 it's me just overlooking it. Sorry Blogger has been Mr Stinker this week. Hope you had a faster load on your visit this week. Now I'm rambling but it's been awhile since we've chatted so really, just wanted to catch up and let you know I am thinking of you, dear friend!

    Ramona :-)
