I won't say how far some of them go back, haha!
So this is a blogpost which really interest me. Actually I could say that about many of your posts, Elizabeth.
Your "pretty woman" is a hoot, but they do say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.sheila 77https://www.blogger.com/profile/00698767195924308373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14359045.post-30490642004491929152016-04-16T09:17:13.341-05:002016-04-16T09:17:13.341-05:00Pretty Woman came out in the late summer of '6...Pretty Woman came out in the late summer of '64, and I remember it playing on the rock stations at the time. Country music was so different back then, honkey-tonk oriented in the extreme. The 1990 movie Pretty Woman used the song, I think, and it's been well-covered through the years -including by Rockapella and The Chipmunks lol Springsteen and Fogerty performed it in 2009 at the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame concert. You can't beat the Orbison original, though.Divers and Sundryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01759655568104782267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14359045.post-16788659909018366162016-04-16T06:10:43.521-05:002016-04-16T06:10:43.521-05:00Great song too, not so pretty woman.....wonderful ...Great song too, not so pretty woman.....wonderful page! Magazines are the #1 thing I use in my artwork. I lovingly purchase magazines every week if I find something special. A copy of Russian Vogue will be mine. A copy of French Elle magazine will be mine. :) I love magazines. I would be considered a magazine hoarder. I do use my magazines all the time. I only keep ones that are high fashion or design. I do have subscriptions to my favorites. I always get them frugally. I am so jealous, in a good way, of your recent Somerset magazine pile. I love your collage. He was a traditional country singer with an amazing voice. His range was unbelievable. The song was considered "Country Rock" at the time it was released. One of my favorite songs. your art this week is fantastic and I love your take on it. I no longer have and magazine subscriptions either but have friends who gift me their old ones and a local thrift store sells National Geographic for 10 cents each so I always have lots around . :) Carolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15192378197271824011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14359045.post-50979823154655431912016-04-15T15:03:23.298-05:002016-04-15T15:03:23.298-05:00Oh my gosh I LOVE your unique take of this song wi...Oh my gosh I LOVE your unique take of this song with your imagery Elizabeth!! I do buy some on occasion though, but my favorite way to get them is to pick up the freebies- seeing they usually get chopped up a anyhow.
