T Stands For Mia's Gift

I want to begin by saying how saddened I was at how some people took such offense to Inlinkz last week.  I didn't realize the backlash this was going to cause.  The entire experience threw me into a tailspin, and I was depressed and hurt for days.  It's not like we haven't used Inlinkz before, especially those of you participate in Second on the 2nd. The concern came from those persons who apparently haven't used Inlinkz in the past.

I apologize if this offended those of you who were concerned, BUT, how many of you visit WordPress blogs?  There is a band across those blogs that state you have to accept their cookies.  CJ has that on her blogger blog, too.  It's annoying and I hate it, but it's their choice, or the choice of their blog provider.  I don't pay for this Inlinkz account, so it's a free service.  I do NOT believe they track us any more than any other blog keeps cookies, but I was too upset to write Maria to ask her about it.  I suggest if you feel you are being unfairly tracked by Inlinkz, please send an e-mail to Maria Kappa, Customer Service Assistant whose e-mail is maria@inlinkz.com.  She can help with your concerns.

Today I'm at my dining room table.  I actually had another T post planned, but when I received this gift just minutes before I started my post, I had to share this gift.  I'll begin by showing the mandala I colored and placed on the cover of my Challenges 3-ring binder.

Next to my binder and art is a package.  Look at all those wonderful postage stamps from Greece.  By now, I suspect you know the package is from Mia, aka Craftartista.

Once I finally got the package open (Mia's tape was extra strong), here are all the goodies that came tumbling out.

There was a wonderful length of pure silk Sari from India.  It is beautiful and so colorful, too.   Of course I had to remove it from the package, and had trouble getting it back in again.

Next was an incredible card from Mia.  I love the face and the flowers.  Mia knows how to color images, that's for sure!  It's a real beauty.

From right clockwise is a face mask I can use to protect myself from COVID-19 when I go out and about, wonderful mica powders, unlike any I own, which means I can make even MORE handmade shimmering mists.  Then there are the teeny, tiny buttons Mia sent.  Next was a box of washi tape.  I removed the sticker and placed it on the back, so you could see this was genuine washi tape from Japan, and not the tape sold in big box craft stores.   To round out the items in the box, are four tea bags: two peppermint and two spearmint.  I'll use one today for T Tuesday.

Next came possibly my favorite of everything: the beautiful stencil.  I have SO few stencils (I can count all my stencils on one hand), and this is a genuine blessing.   Mia also sent clear stamps I can use in my mixed media art, even though I'm not much of a stamper.

Another reference to T today is the cup on the stencil.

I can't forget the two beautiful napkins or the canvas cloth that I'm going to enjoy turning into a small art quilt or quiltlet as I call them.

Finally, there is something that confused me.

I realize it's a cat,

but it's squishy material and the cat appears to have been punched through the squishy acrylic like material.  I just hope Mia can tell me what it is or what it's for, because I love the idea of a cat, but have no idea otherwise.

Edit: Here's what Mia sent me via e-mail.
This is a silicone mold, my dear friend. Hope you will use it.
It just needs some clay, or heavy body gel and gesso, or some texture paste!!!

Now I'm off to make spearmint tea gifted me by Mia and remind you it's time to share your own drink related post.  The rules are extremely simple.  Your drink related post may be anything from a photo of a glass, cup, or mug, to an actual drink.  You may choose to share a sketch or a digital, hybrid, or traditional page in your scrapbook, art journal, or altered book.  Maybe you'd prefer to share a tag, or wow us with your photography.  You might choose a postcard, decorated card, or magazine image.  You might even draw an image on a used tea bag.  Or perhaps you prefer to review a place you visited, a movie, or book.  It makes no difference as long as it's drink related.  And don't forget that the more unique and outside the box it is, the better we like it.  Please tie it back here, and please link only to your T post, not your entire blog.  When you link, Bleubeard, the T gang, and I will be by to visit.   Bleubeard would also like to remind you that your photos may be taken any time, even months or years ago, if you choose.

Please save your ATCs you have exchanged until NEXT week, please.  We'll have a big reveal party at that time.

Hi Elizabeth! You got some gorgeous gifts from Mia, enjoy! She is very generous. Have a fun with your goodies and tea etc. I didn't know anybody was up in arms about InLinkz last week, and I don't really understand it. All Links use cookies, otherwise they wouldn't work, but I don't feel endangered by it. Sorry you got upset about it. Anyway, have fun with your goodies, happy T day Valerie

Gorgeous gift.mwhat fun you will have with it all. Is that cat item an embossing folder? Happy T Day, Elizabeth,

Or is it a mold?

I'm distressed that you were distressed, Elizabeth. For all you do, the last thing you should receive is complaints! Good idea to send the complainants directly to InLinkz.

Is Japanese washi tape different from what we buy at Michael's, for example? I hope you'll share what you do with the Japanese tape.

The cat looks like a mold, but I can't think what you'd mold in it. I hope Mia will clue us all in.

Happy T-Day! Hugs, Eileen

Mia puts together such perfect gifts for the people she is gifting. I am not sure what the kitty is either.
sorry about the inlinkz I had no idea about the cookies-but like you and Valerie have said all these sites use them. they are kind of a pain in a way in that it takes you to inklinkz first and they to the blog you are going to-which I think must be their new site change or something.
don't concern yourself with such negative people-hugs.

looking at the kittie again does look like some sort of mold or is it a stamp? Mia will let us know

Hi! I love love love the anniversary ATC you mailed and the extras as well!! Thank you for the surprise :) I'm sorry You received kick back from the link request :( I'm thinking like Kathy, the cat might be a mold of some sort. Try stamping with it though! What a fantastic gift you received ~ How generous and sweet is she ~ Blessings and well wishes on your week ahead ~ Love, Karen

Hi Elizabeth,
I am soooo glad that you received my gifts. Enjoy, my dear friend!
You make me really happy that you like them.
And thank you once again for joining my blogaversary!
Now about the cat: It is a silicone mold, sweetie! Put some texture in there, or heavy body gel and gesso, or put some clay and make your own cats!
Kisses!!!!!!

I always enjoy your artwork. So beautiful.

I am being very cautious these days about being part of some other sites.

Elizabeth, forgot to say:
I love silicone molds, not the plastic molds, because you can get out your creation easily. Hope you will use it. I sent it to you because you are a cat lover.
And I am soooo happy that you love the stencil!!! I thought this is perfect for the TSFT!!!
Kisses again!

How lovely! So many thoughtful gifts!

I'm one for whom this is the case: "The concern came from those persons who apparently haven't used Inlinkz in the past." I was certainly not offended, just not ready to go to their site to visit each of the blog posts. I _have_ a WordPress blog lol so they are part of my current internet life, and I understand about cookies and what I can allow them to do on that front. In the same way that you don't order anything online while I am perfectly happy doing so, our internet practices are different. I'm on FB and Twitter as well as blogging platforms and have an understanding of what's going on there. My problem had nothing to do with cookies. Cookies aren't worth the trouble of avoiding, and I'm not bothered by them. I click that "accept cookies" button with wild abandon. It was the fact that they held you _at InLinkz_ rather than sending you on to the actual blog that I found concerning. Or maybe I was just doing it wrong... That said, it was easy enough for me not to link and instead to visit the blogs I follow though my feed reader. We each make choices. I meant no offense to you in making mine. I am terribly sorry it caused you any stress/hurt/depression at all :( I'd not have mentioned it at all if I'd known it would stir up anything. I am so, so sorry :( and hate being perceived as one of the negative complainers. It was really not my intention at all, and I was really just trying to explain why I wasn't participating :(

Again, I am soooo sorry to have been part of anything that caused you upset and pain :(

I wouldn't stress so much over the Inlinkz thing. No matter what it is, you'll never please everyone. Focus on the good.
What a wonderful mail day you had- I love the stencil especially! and the cat mold- if you have air dry clay you can fill the mold with that and after it's dry paint and/or add gold paste lightly over it to highlight areas, - use it as is or brush on a light gloss coat and glue on a pin back and wear it proudly:)
Happy T day!

I loved seeing all the beautiful goodies that Mia sent you. She certainly was generous. The sari fabric caught my eye as I love working with it. I have never seen a mold like that but I am sure you will have fun playing around with it. Looking forward to seeing what you create with all these goodies.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

Now that's what I call a great package to find in the mailbox. The stamps alone would excite me, LOL! I know you are going to create some great things with the items she sent.

Iris Flavia said...

First I have to say... I must be naive, I had no problem with Inlinkz.
Then you made me think "wow" on the mandala and next you threw me back into 1976. We were grocery shopping and I begged my Granma that badly she finally agreed to buy a bag of potato chips.
I had to wait till after cash out and then the darn thing would not open! Finally Granma took over and BOOM. The content was on the floor. I was NOT allowed to pick the pieces up and cried. 70´s, right, I "got a reason" to cry and other customers just passed by.
I still even remember the smell of the shop!
That bag was like Mia´s tape! ;-)

Oh, what a wonderful gift box! The melon cloth is just beautiful (as all the rest, do not get me wrong!)
Cute cat - I think Hubby would use it to make mini-mini-pudding (I have a... Lion for that).

Ooooo you lucky lady Elizabeth, what a perfectly wonderful box of thoughtful gifts for you from Mia 💜 Looking forward to seeing a colourful series of pussycats sometime in the future 😉

I'm so sorry you have had adverse reaction to your InLinkz. I don't have a problem. OK it takes a few more clicks, but no problems. Cookies are useful as well as a necessary evil. Take your pick, you glass is either half full or it is half empty. Just don't get stressed about it Elizabeth, please.
Your mandala is beautiful!
How generous (and extravagant) Mia has been to send you all this stuff. The length of silk is very special, and the stencil is indeed great. The serviettes are awesome. I have never seen ones like that.
I smiled at your reaction to the silicon mold. I look forward to see what you do with that. You could even make a cookie to eat with your coffee. Lol.
Wishing you a very happy T-Day,
Lisca

Lovely assortment of gifts you received Elizabeth.

With regard to people's concerns about tracking cookies: if one has a Smart Phone with Apps on it, it's highly likely one's entire phone contact list got uploaded back to the App's server without the App saying it was doing that. Facebook did that. Other Apps still do that. If one uses the Internet via any mechanism (phone, computer, etc.) one should assume all of one's activities are being recorded by various agencies, including, but not limited to, the Internet provider. In the US, the US Congress gave retroactive immunity to ALL Telecomm companies for providing detailed usage information about ALL American customers to the US Government. The Fourth Amendment no longer exists, despite claims to the contrary.

Sorry to hear about the adverse comments about InLinkz that must have been upsetting, it wasn't a problem for me at all as most sites these days ask to enable cookies and the majority of blog challenges use this platform too. I hope that you are ok! Wow, those gifts from Mia are amazing 😁. That's was really thoughtful and I can't wait to see those shimmer sprays that you create from the Mica powders! Take care and wishing you a Happy T Day! Hugs, Jo x

Hi Elizabeth... Im not doing the challenges ou do, but I focused on how you felt. I’m so sorry. It’s bound to happen with these things on the Internet, that are all there to be successful in some way. If it’s cookies, then that’s what it is. I’m not sure I understand myself, but using these things will always cause distress for some.

I am very upset that you would be attacked for a site's policy. I am technically and Internet savvy and aware what cookies are and couldn't care less about them. I probably click accept a dozen times a day.
But as you can see from your lovely gift from Mia that there are more good people out there than miserable.
