Rain's Thursday Art Date: In like a lamb, out like a lion

It's Thursday, which means it's time for Rain's Thursday Art Date.  This week the theme is in like a lamb, out like a lion.  I want to begin by thanking everyone who stuck with me while once again, I was offline for yet another three days due to my internet provider (ATT).

I created this page in 2016 for a Craft Barn alpha/numeric challenge.

2015 was the year of the Sheep.

Sadly, I didn't stamp the poor sheep/lamb any better here, either.  Have I not mentioned I'm not a stamper?

Although technically no sheep are shown in this page I created for my 7-Continent altered book,

sheep are mentioned.

Christmas is always a time to show sheep and shepherds.  This nativity scene was taken at my friend Dana's home.

So was this set made from wood blocks and painted by her children.

A month or so ago, I sent a scan of this lion to Iris.  She used it on her blog.  I went in and did some creative work in Photoshop.  I was quite happy with how it turned out.  I only wish I had thought to do that before I sent it to Iris.

This is another Lion I sent to Iris.  It came from my bachelor alma mater.   It shows all the degrees you might pursue by going to this university.  It originally was published in the Joplin, MO Globe.  I also tried to clean this up a bit, too in Photoshop.  My scanner is on its last leg and I was just lucky I got semi-decent scans.

I think you can see why I included this page.

During a constellation exhibit at my local art museum, I took this of Leo the Lion.

I used a bleach pen to create a technique on this lion.

You can see where I added the bleach in order to lighten parts of the page.

Here's a lion from the Sedgwick County Zoo. I think she looks majestic.

This will teach me to NOT ride the tram at the zoo and try to take photos.

The lion portion of the post wouldn't be complete without showng Richard, who appeared in my Kings and Queens altered book I made for my friend Kathy one year for her birthday.

These are my interpretations of lambs and lions.  All art created by me, all photos taken by me.  Bleubeard supervised (and once again approved).

Thanks for stopping by. I still have no guarantee my internet will make it through the day without going offline again, but I am truly grateful to my friends, followers, readers, and lurkers for sticking with me.  I am actually more than grateful.  Please also join me at Rain's Thursday Art Date.

Hope your internet problems are over Elizabeth.
I like the page with the Chinese symbols.
The lion from your University with all the degrees that could be taken there is really a great idea.
Keep safe :)

Nice views of lions and lambs. And very nice art to see. We have had mostly a lamb month but a bit of a lion the other night. And to comment on your comment to me about the number of covid-19 cases here in NH. What's hurting us is the fact that we are next to Massachusetts, which as you probably know is one of the high case places. We are so connected, with so many people in the southern part of NH working in Mass. Our highest county is the one I work in-not live in, and because it is so near our state to the south so many people work down in the Boston area, as Boston is only an hour away. Meanwhile the hubby and I are more or less staying home, except for needed going out. Hope you are staying smart and not feeling too stuck inside. Hugs-Erika

This was a fun post. I thought the wooden Nativity set painted by your friend's children was so sweet, and the lion advert from your the university is pretty cool.

I love the wood block nativity scene. That'd be a nice addition to the season even if you didn't have kids :)

Internet access should be _reliable_. I believe it should be treated as a public utility, as it has become a necessity for everyday life. I hope yours stays on :)

We're still under a "safer at home" order and aren't supposed to get out except for essentials, which apparently includes office supply stores and lawn care services lol. I'm staying in except for weekly grocery trips, but I was doing that anyway. As of yesterday we were up to 170 cases here in Memphis and expecting more as people actually get tested. Wider testing would've made all this better, I do believe. Stay in and stay safe!

I love the lions you share. Iris had to be over the moon. They are beautiful. And that nativity painted by the children is precious. So meaningful. Stay well, Elizabeth.

My goodness, a prolific post of many lambs and lions. You have focused on these opposites over the years I can see and I can understand bleubeards approval. I too am having problems with my computer. Every time they try to update me, it crashes, so I try to not get the update and they do it on their own during the night. It is not pleasant to go to my computer in the morning and see a tiny little word in the middle of a blank screen saying "error" ... I am assuming that because I didn't grow up in the techy generation, I probably do things that bring these problems on, but they are still irritating. Enjoyed your art and always glad to hear about Bleubeard :)

By the way Elizabeth, I have to say both Alex and I are jealous/envious/happy that you met Mel Blanc!!! He is our hero, we are such Looney Tunes fans, and also fans of the old Jack Benny radio program where he did a slew of voices. Lucky you!! :)
