Quirky Love

Bleubeard and I are back today, this time with two spreads created in my latest altered book.

This started as a postcard sent to me by a dear blogger friend.   I loved the elongated heart and heart shadow.

You can't see it, but I added the heart corner stamp  in the red corners, too.  I should have used black ink, but used yellow, instead.

I tested the corner stamp on the back of the postcard and it stamped perfectly.  Then, when time came to stamp the front, two of the corners were acceptable, two were off.   You can tell this postcard has been through the US postal service because of their orange stamp as the card went through the sorter/stamp canceller.

I called the left side Quirky Love.

Both images came from the internet.  I colored each and fussy cut both.  The quirky character on the right didn't have feet, so I added my own.  Have I not mentioned I can't draw?  I can't design legs and feet, either!  One thing I can say is, they both have heart!

If ever there was quirky love, this is it!

Here are both spreads side by side in my latest altered book.  On the left, I was going for lots of different colors.  On the right, I was honoring my friend's drawing.

Bleubeard and I are grateful you stopped by today. Your visit means the world to us.  We hope to also see you at Art Journal Journey for one more day of Hearts and maybe even a bit of quirky love.

I think what you did works well together. The quirky characters and the elongated heart face. The legs on the right hand figure are same shape as the girl and I love the button up shoe and heel design.

Quirky is always fun! I'm always drawn to those long skinny hearts, too.
