T Stands for Summertime Love

Today I'm having T Stands For Tuesday at my dining room table.

I call this Summertime Love and am also joining Rike at Rike's Art our host this month at Art Journal Journey with her theme Fruit and Veggies

You get a close-up of the wonderful fruit and veggies used in this summertime salad

and a close-up of the summertime drink being served in a mason jar/mug.

It's your drink of choice.  Mine is lemonade, because it's a fruit.

Straws are not optional in my world, but I'm hoping to find some that are environmentally friendly.

There's quite a bit of love going on as this spread shows.

For this page, I began by sewing a background I found on Graphics Fairy and a focal image I found in a food magazine, to 110 lb card stock using variegated thread.  Next, I used an alpha stencil that has two different sizes, to create the word "Summer."  I used a green metallic gel pen to color in the letters.  Finally, I hand cut two hearts, colored them using fluid acrylics, then glued them to the page using a glue stick.  The main reason I sewed the image to the background is because the magazine image was quite thin and ANY glue would have wrinkled the thin paper.

I'm sure you probably know it's time for you to share your own drink related post.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, ATCs, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday, and not just this year.

Please also be aware.  If you are linking to Facebook, Instagram, or any of the other social media sites, most of us, including yours truly will not be able to leave comments.

This is Day 19 of Art Every Day Month (AEDM), hosted by Leah Piken Kolidas
and I hosted a link-up drink party and created a journal page for Art Journal Journey.

Wonderful journal page, and the salad looks delicious, one of my fave meals. The mason jars are good for keeping flies and wasps out of drinks! At least the cold weather here has got rid of the wasps! Have a fun T day, Valerie

Lovely summery page, Elizabeth. It's nice to have a taste of fresh summer fruits as winter approaches. Thank you for inviting us to your dining room table.

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

I like those fruits and veggies all year :) My younger son has started using metal straws with soft tips that come off for cleaning. He always uses a straw, and these make a difference. I'd take the top off the drink in your art and just drink it as is :)

Oh what a lovely salad. It looks so summery. It's a good idea to drink out of these covered jars. (wasps etc)
I like the sewing.
Those little knives are amazing. I have one myself. (I'll add a picture of it if I can)

This is a fabulous page dear Elizabeth. I looks so yummy, and is so nostalgic, even if just back a few months. And you added some super details like the bottom printing and the stitching. It is perfect for T day. And not sure I can be of any help, but if you need anything, let me know. Have a wonderful T day. Hugs-Erika

Happy T day Elizabeth, a lovely colourful artwork, love the stitching, something I’ve never tried!
Your salad looks delicious and colourful, makes me want to eat some as it’s such a taste of summer. I’m not sure about those mason jars for drinks, I know they are all the rage, having a straw with it looks easier to drink from them
Sorry to see your garden looking so wintery, roll on summer when everything looks so much better.

I have a new carafe from ALDI with a filter and put cucumber and herbs in it. Sadly, it looks icky!
Plus it´s cold, so, tea it is. But in summer: melon, lemon, peppermint :-)

For now I turned even on the heating manually, cause it´s really cold.
Your art sure warms me up already, sweet memories of my Niece´s birthday!

Oh yes....summer please!!! I love your salad and drink. These mason jars are quite popular in summer. I use metal straws since this summer. Super clever to sew the thin image instead of gluing.
Happy T-Day and happy AJJ Elizabeth!
You are the master admin at the challenge and you are simply wonderful.
I really hope you get enouhg support ... I can't help much, please forgive me but there is no muse at all left.

Oh I am loving the look of the summer salad and the drink you shared today. Your page is beautiful, especially as we woke to a very frosty morning.
Even though its cold the drink sounds very refreshing. I must look out for a jar like yours with the lid. It could be a bonus for me next summer, especially when I often want to dip paint brushes in my drink.
The stitching to keep the pictures in place is a super idea for thinner papers as well.
Happy T day wishes

It looks fantastic Elizabeth, but a long and complicated procedure from beginning to end 💜

It's amazing how many wonderful fruit and veggies were used in this summertime salad, it looks very delicious! And the drink too!
I think it was very clever to sew this thin magazine image instead of gluing it and then have a wrinkled page.
I wish you a happy T-Day! (So sorry to have not enough time to join in too - and write more comments)

Sorry not to make it for T this week! We were expecting someone to put in new radiators on Tuesday so had a lot of things to move - when he re-scheduled us for Thursday we left everything where it was and I couldn't use the computer my pics are on! I love this page - how clever to sew this page! Hugs, Chrisx
