T Stands For Wichita Art Museum (WAM)

Before we begin today, if you haven't already, PLEASE check out all the gifts Valerie sent me when I won her giveaway at Tag Tuesday.

Way back in June, my foodie friend Sally and I went to see the Georgia O'Keeffe exhibit at WAM.  Thanks in part to getting in free on Saturday, both of our tickets were the same price.  Weekdays for general admission, adults were charged more than seniors, which is $10 adults (me), $5 seniors (Sally), and $3.00 children and youth (all prices USD).  For the exhibition, you paid admission plus the added cost of the special exhibition tickets.

First, however, we decided to eat at WAM's restaurant, The Muse.  Look at that green straw.  It's biodegradable.

You can see a copy of the menu in PDF form here.  I like to eat here on Saturday because I like their brunch menu.

I had the egg white omelet and Sally had crepes.  I got a potato cake and asked for ranch dressing to go with it.  This is a vegetarian delight.

Sally ordered salad with her crepes.

I was in vegetarian heaven!

It's now time for you to share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

Your food looks good! Sally always looks very purposeful when she's studying the menu! Good that you can get into the museum cheaper as a senior. Not many here offer that, but some do have free days once a week or month, so that's good. It's bed time here and I'm hungry after seeing the food, but it will have to wait till tomorrow. Happy T day, Valerie

What a deal! I love free days at museums, and I take advantage of senior pricing when I qualify -the ages are all over the place. O'Keefe led an interesting life, and I've enjoyed what I've seen of her work.

Your food looks tasty. Like many of your food posts, I'd have a hard time deciding :)

Happy T Day!

Your omelette looks delicious. You always find the best deals in town, Elizabeth. I was blown away by your prize package. I'm grinning from ear to ear with joy for you.

Happy T-day! Hugs, EIleen

I love salads and omeletes, Elizabeth. In Greece museums charge like this one. Seniors, children and unemployed persons pay less, and adults pay more. Hugs, my friend.

Yummy! I love the meats but am trying to put more veggies in our diet. My current favorite is roasted root veggies.
Happy T Day!

Your lunch looks really delicious. There are really nice veggie on your omelet. It looks way better than my omelet which was just ok (which you shall see when my post goes live in the morning. And I think I saw this exhibit a couple of springs ago at the Peabody Essex Museum in Massachusetts. I hope you share so we can compare if it is indeed the exhibit. Happy T day. Hugs-Erika

Biodegradable straws - good! Your food looks delicious! I´m soon off to meet my ex-teamleader at IKEA for brunch. I´m not a real fan of IKEA anymore but might buy a chair, he looooves IKEA. An hour´s walk for me :-) One way.

It looks a delicious menu, Sally looks like she is really enjoying choosing her meal. The food did look delicious. Bio degradable straws are a good idea, but I do wonder if straws are really necessary for us to use in our drinks.
I look forward to seeing photos of the exhibition as well.
Happy T day wishes.

What beautiful food. I love when food not only delights our taste buds but is a feast for the eyes. Your meals are so colorful!
The art exhibit sounds like such a great deal! I bet the volume of traffic is increased on free days but free is the only way to go!
Happy Tea Day!

That looks like a delicious brunch. I would have had the omelet too.
Re entree fees, here in Andalucia (which is an independent region with its own laws) we get free entry to all museums on our 65+ card. Of course we need to pay extra for a special exhibition. In other regions of Spain, and really in most of western Europe, pensioners get a discounts (as do children).
Happy T-Day,
Lisca
PS I have just visited your blog with Valeries gift. Sooo generous!

The food you and Sally got looked delicious. It sounds like it was a fun outing. Happy T-Day! (And I'm afraid of lightning too: I'm worried it will hit a tree that will then topple onto my house, or it will hit my house directly. There was at least one house fire due to a lightning strike when we had that bad storm a few weeks ago.)

Apologies for arriving so late at the party! Your meal looks absolutely wonderful Elizabeth - most of our Museums have excellent cafes!
We are lucky in the UK that our museums are free usually, although special exhibitions have to be paid for.
We always have to pay to visit Stately Homes though, even if it is through a membership of National Trust (which we bought as a Lifetime Membership several years ago!) Some Cathedrals have also started to charge to visit -not sure I approve of that but I suppose some folk weren't donating voluntarily as requested at the door! I will come back to catch up as it is past Midnight here! Hugs, Chrisx

I hope you enjoyed the exhibit. I saw a Georgia O’Keeffe retrospective @ the Tate Modern in London just before I came home - lots of lovely paintings.

Back on the subject of straws.
Thank you for the reply you left of me. Of course there is relevant needs for folk to use straws.
What I do have thoughts about is that they are given in drinks as a normal addition to the order. so much waste.Going back some time here in the uk they used to be an optional addition and placed on the counter or table. I think because folk abused this, it became normal to have one in each drink ordered.
Sorry if I upset you on this subject, you would be very welcome to have tea here any time. No posh china as I always use a mug with a large handle, this is so I can get a good grip to to hold on to the mug. I even drink cold drinks in a mug at home. My brew of choice when eating out is usually tea as well for the same reason, there is a handle on the cup.
Have a good rest of the day Elizabeth.
