T Stands For La Chinita

Before we begin today, I want to rectify something I overlooked last week.

I did take a photo of Lisca's envelope last week, I just failed to show it.  I also wasn't aware the ATC she made me was hidden in this cute envelope.  That's what happens when I try to rush and don't really examine everything.

Isn't this just absolutely precious?

Even the back of the ATC is adorable.  Thank you again for everything, Lisca.  I am very grateful.

And before I forget, it's time to wish RO a happy birthday.  Now for my scheduled post.

I invited my foodie friend Sally to join me at La Chinita.

I had an ulterior motive.

I wanted to know if the "bug" I found the last time I was here was still hanging around.

Obviously it was.

I got a little carried away taking photos.

I wanted to bring the youngsters here to see it.  At the time, I knew they were coming, but they had not arrived yet.

We have been here many times.  The first time was in 2013 when I showed several other Mexican restaurants.  La Chinita is about half way through this post.  Another time was in 2018.

It looks however like this will be the last time we visit at this address.

I took photos of the entire menu

so I could tell how much they increase their prices once they move.

It never fails,

both Sally and I order the exact same things each time.

I get Chili Rellenos every time.  Sally gets guacamole with her meal, which she hates, so she always gives it to me.  As you can see we both had water, and mine was with lemon.

Back outside, I couldn't stop taking more photos.

I have NO idea what that place is, but it has an eclectic mix.

It's time to share your own drink related post this week.  It can be photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday.

Lisca's ATC is gorgeous, and I love the idea of it being coffee o'clock, that's a good time for me. Glad you enjoyed the Mexican restaurant and the food there. That bug is fun, glad there are no bugs that size flying around here! Happy T day, Valerie

That bug is interesting. Now I want to go look for it! LOL We both are on the same track this week, as I showed our meal from a Mexican restaurant, too. Only it is the one on our side of town. Thanks for sharing! I always learn things when I visit you! Happy almost T Day!

It was a super ATC from Lisca and coffee o'clock sounds okay to me even though I prefer tea.
That bug looked amazing, does it have a bit of movement if its windy? It must be safely fixed in place.
Tour food looks delicious. I hope you will be able to visit its new location and that the food remains good value.
Happy T day wishes Elizabeth.

The ATC and envelope from Lisca are lovely. I know you must feel bad about not sharing it earlier (knowing you ;-). But as far as I know, Linda hasn't yet received my ATC yet!

The bug and the army truck are sort of weird. I would love to know if you learn anything further. Are they bugging you all, perhaps?

Your food looks delicious. In my part of Mexico, Chinita is an endearing nickname for a curly haired girl. In other parts of the country, it means a girl with Oriental appearance. In yet other parts, it's sort of nasty and refers to pigs.

The other day, our neighborhood gardener was telling me he has at least 20 nicknames. I lost him after #5. My question was whether I should call him Jose Luis, Jose, Luis or Pepe. I think I need to stick with Jose Luis. 😉

Happy T-day! Eileen xx

I want a bug like that for my patio! Maybe a bit smaller ;) but that's such a striking piece. I'll bet you're not the only one drawn to take photos of it. I'd have had a hard time picking from that menu. I like Mexican food. It's always interesting to see the changes after a restaurant moves.

That certainly is a huge interesting bug. I love things like that. It's another form of urban art. Such fun!
The Mexican food looks good. We had dinner with our Mexican friends on Sunday night. She made empanadas. Very nice it was too.
I'm glad you liked my ATC. Now I see it again, I also note that I mis-spelt 'hosts'. I gave it an extra 't' which I suppose is appropriate for the T-Party, lol.
Happy T-Day,
Lisca

The ATCs are wonderful. That bug is awesome. That might be fun to have for the Zensical Garden. There's a big, blue bug on a building in Providence, Rhode Island, and he advertises pest control. One cool thing about dining with friends is knowing the likes and dislikes and being able to share. Happy T Day

I came back to say 4 things: 1. the alcohol ink bottle was probably 15 years old! 2. And I did mean I had completed the challenge, all 39 of them! I love this event every year! Ok 3. So , thanks for the note about where the bug was. 4. I have been wanting to tell you where the pianos are that you couldn’t find. The Art Park 7230 E 29th St.
happy Day!

A dragonfly?

We noticed a price increase at our favorite Mexican restaurant, too. Chile Rellenos are my favorite, but with pinto beans, and lots of guacamole.

Losca's atc is so lovely and wow that is a very cool bug for sure the children would have loved it. that's a bummer about the price increase-it is really getting expensive to eat out these days.
I was gone all day at the woods house-working on cleaning and packing a few things while waiting for the washer repair person-they give the time 8am to 5pm so I had to be there at 8am and he didn't show up til 4:30 and left around an hour later-so too tired to write my T post tonight hugs Kathy

Elizabeth,
Beautiful ATC and envelope from Lisca. Such a lovely image on her ATC.
Your Mexican food looks so delicious. It is so nice that you and Sally have so many places that you enjoy eating together.
That bug is so unique and certainly a work of art! I can see why you were fascinated and needed to take pictures.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate

well that has to be the largest bug I've ever seen...except maybe in old horror movies on Chiller Theatre! (an old TV show that showed B movies when I was a kid) At least you visited the restaurant before it moved! now you'll know where to find it next time.

truly sweet goodies from Lisca! beautiful! Happy T day <3

Nice big bug! I take that is not an active power line? I like the tile they used to make it. And your dinner looks yummy. I had Mexican food a few weeks ago too. And good thing you went before La Chinita moves. I wonder what will happen to the bug or is it not associated with the restaurant? happy T day. Hugs-Erika

The envelope and bag containing the ATC Lisca sent you are lovely, and I like the vintage images on the ATC that she made you. That bug is fascinating. When I saw the first photo, I thought it was on the actual telephone pole, embedded within the power lines, and I thought, "I can't believe the utility companies allowed that to be done." Then I saw it was on its own pole. In the later photograph that shows it within the property of that building, I noticed there seem to be other interesting things in there. I hope the youngsters enjoyed seeing the bug. I love Mexican food, so La Chinita looks like a wonderful place to eat. Happy T-Day!

to comment on your comment (smiles) these commercial coffee pots can be very expensive-not too bad a price for Bunn at Sams club considering they do last a long time and the coffee is so much better tasting too I think. Ours go up to 500.00 so we ended up looking for refurberished ones and they run around 150.00 free shipping last time we bought this one. I like this one which is set up different than our other one-in that the water is always hot so when you pour in water it gives back what you put in-even just a large mug which is nice for a hot teas.
Yes these with the warmer up on top are too tall to fit under kitchen cabinets so I was thrilled with this extra space where it fits perfectly in this kitchen

Wow! That's a brilliant piece of artwork, but sort of scary too(lol) I do enjoy Mexican food on occasion as long as I can add some extra spice. Looks like they give you a healthy helping of food too! Hugs, RO
