I'm once again joining my friend Valerie at Tag Tuesday, where her theme is Anything Goes. It appears I'm getting in just under the wire, too.
As the sentiment states, I call this Bobby sox and loafers. 
I've had this image in my files for awhile now and all it took was to resize it to fit the tag. 
I noticed some of Valerie's tags are long and straight, so that's why I created mine this way. 
I added the sewing because I didn't want to use glue on the various layers.For this tag, I began with a length of argyle paper to which I added the resized image from my files. Then I sewed the patterned paper over a piece of black construction paper using variegated thread.Thanks for joining me as I present a tag for Tag Tuesday on this Sunday.

I'm still trying to think if this is real, or am I dreaming that you have made another tag ?! What a lovely morning surprise for me. I love the photo, I have a copy here on a calendar. And argyle pattern is often used for socks, so fits well again. I like the long tag form best, probably because it's the best way to use up left-over bits. Can't remember the last time I wore bobby socks, but must have been when I was at school :) Nice page Elizabeth.
Fun page. I like the bright, argyle background I had penny loafers which I loved though I carried dimes in them in case I had to make an emergency phone call.

Even though I wasn't born in this era, something about it has always drawn me in. I love the clothing, furniture, colors and appliances and everything about it. This art piece is fabulous! I don't have penny loafers, but I do have the black and white shoes that are so fun. Hugs and Happy Sunday! RO
I like this tag. That photo is a happy nostalgic one, and it makes me think of my mom. And then I think weird things like how all those bobby soxers, if they are still alive, are now elderly women. And what kind of lives did they lead? And I wanted to respond on your comment about the trident in my blog post. About the trident perfect in the mermaids hand. She is actually holding the trident in the stamp, so I just stamped the image on my page, put my cut out mermaid over the stamped image, and then colored the remaining trident from the stamped on the page image. Nothing too complex. Hope you are having a great weekend Elizabeth! It is cool and feels like fall here, which is nice after the heat but is a little too much of a reminder that fall is not far off. I wore bobby socks -and still do lol- but never had loafers. Those girls look so happy, don't they! I'm of course loving that background and hearing about your process :)
What a great image. I love your stitching and the background is perfect.
I just adore that image, and putting the paisley as the background reminds me of how, when I was in my teens, I used to haunt the Sock Shop (now long gone) and save my pennies for their gorgeous plaid socks. It was a thing back in the eighties! The stitching is a great finishing touch... thanks for the trip down memory lane - I'd completely forgotten my cherished Argyle socks in pale blue/grey with a hint of red!

Oh my goodness... just went and Googled and they do still exist. I wouldn't wear them these days though!!

This is fun and shows how teen girls dressed in the day of Frank Sinatra who was a babe magnet for this crowd. I love the paper you used and the sewing tops the cake
