T Stands For Holiday

Please note: If your T Tuesday post and your Second on the 2nd post are the same, please link both places.

Today we are preparing for a picnic on the back patio.  But first, we want to wish Canada a very happy 152nd birthday.

The original plan was to spread the blanket on the ground and sit in the grass while we enjoyed our lunch.

We decided the grass in the back yard isn't exactly conducive for sitting, so we decided to eat at the table.  However, we all agreed we would NOT light the candles sitting on the blanket.  Note the patriotic cups.  They are all I have left of cups, plates, and napkins with that design.  For some reason, I have even MORE of these cups, so I suspect they will show up again next year to celebrate the 4th of July.

Now it's time to explain the rules of Pay it Forward, or PIF.  For those of you who aren't familiar with the Pay it Forward or PIF way of exchanging ATCs on July 16, let me explain.

1. Create ONE and only ONE ATC.  You may of course, make one for other T Tuesday friends, but only one is required to play the PIF game.

2. It will go to the next person who links after you who has an asterisk (*) after their name.

3.  Contact that person by leaving a comment on their blog.  Make arrangements to get their mailing address, either through their blog or their profile.

4.  Once you have their mailing address, send your ATC no later than Friday, July 19.  Sooner is better, but I realize sometimes real life gets in the way.

5. The person whose name is before yours who has an asterisk after their name should contact you.  Provide that player with your mailing information.

6.  Example:
Judy*
Mary
Sonia*
Gretchen*

Judy sends to Sonia.
Sonia sends to Gretchen.
Gretchen sends to Judy.
7. If you choose NOT to send an ATC, link as usual, but do NOT include an asterisk after your name (like Mary in the above example).

8. Next comes the hard part.  DO NOT show your ATC on your blog on July 16.  Instead, wait until your PIF recipient has received it.

9. You DO NOT have to play the PIF game if you choose not to.  Don't worry.  No one will think any less of you if you don't.  However, please DO link that day, just as you would any normal T Tuesday.

I hope I have explained the game of PIF (or Pay it Forward).  Should you have any questions, please ASK IN COMMENTS.  I will clarify your question on YOUR blog.  If enough people are confused, I will edit this post.

By now you probably know it's time for you to share your own drink related post.  It can be gifts you received, photos, a place you visited, movies, postcards, mail art, junk mail, books, sketches, mixed media, drawings, paintings, tags, scrapbooking, or other art that is digital, hybrid, or traditional, as long as it in some way relates back to a drink, any drink.  Regardless, please share below and Bleubeard and I, along with the rest of the T gang will be by to visit.   Please link only your T post and not your blog in general.  Old photos are acceptable because they may be taken any time, not just on Tuesday and not just this year.

Please remember, if your T Tuesday post and your Second on the 2nd post are the same, please link both places.

EDIT: You do NOT need to add your asterisk today.  Add it only on July 16 if you intend to send an ATC.

What a fun picnic! I'm happy on the ground or at the table either one. Your quilt brings back fond memories of using a quilt for picnics when I was little. :) Happy T Day!

I'm assuming the 16th is the day we put an asterisk after our name?

Beautiful quilt, Elizabeth! I would be afraid to eat at it, as I would spill something! Have a wonderful picnic! I am pretty sure I understand the rules for the 16th, and I plan on taking part. Thank you dear hostess!

I'd rather sit at a table than sit on the ground. At my age, I can get down, but it's hard getting up! I like your tablecloth quilt. It remind me of fireworks. Happy 4th of July and T Day!

Hi Elizabeth, Hope you enjoy your picnic, I would rather sit at the table, getting older means it takes longer to get up from the ground now days, LOL
Sorry not to join with the ATC exchange, I just haven't got the time with all of Steve's doctors and hospital appointments before the family arrive but I look forward to seeing them all later.

What a beautiful quilt! I'm glad you put it on the table and not sat on it in the garden.
Is this going to be your 4th July picnic or are you having the picnic today? I spotted the patriotic cups too.
Have a wonderful T-Day, inside or out in the garden.
Give my love to the children,
Lisca

Picnics always have a magic about them. Not always good magic, but a magic of its own (rain, mosquitoes, etc).

The quilt! Oh, that quilt.

I totally adore your quilt. Smart with no candles (unless battery ones!) But it looks like a wonderful setting for a tea!

The quilt you used as a tablecloth is gorgeous! I'm sorry, but didn't notice that my post had to be related to drinks until after I had already linked. Have a blessed weekend!
