Art Journal Pages

My foodie friend Sally gives me a lot of paper products she would normally throw in her recycle bin.  As a result, when I get these recyclables, instead of allowing them to pile up, at the end of the day I try to make journal pages I use in my scrappy visual journals.

I'm joining Wendy from Wendy's Art and Craft Journal who is our host at Art Journal Journey this month.  Her theme is Having Fun and I hope these will bring fun to the recipients.  Be aware, these are all filler pages that will be added where needed in various journals.  None of these will be in the same book, but spread out in many visual journals.

You can see I've found a great way to recycle my 365 somethings, too.  Many of the pages I'm making now will also incorporate pockets, as can be seen here.

More 365 somethings were used on both sides of these pages.

I found a good way to reuse some of those paint chips I've picked up over the years.  Nothing goes to waste, not even the outside of these journal stickers, the only things that were new.  Note the pocket under the Seafood Selector.  I cut circles and added them to the pockets I made.  As for the Seafood Selector,

in my haste to create the page, I sewed the best part to the wrong side!

More pages that are the same.

Then of course, there are

places for hidden messages, too,

as shown here also.

I am aware these are not what I wanted to share today, but every other year, I've had one guest designer who took some of the pressure off my insane schedule.  I didn't ask anyone this year, so this is Day 15 of 22 (also tax day in the USA), and I recycled all the sewn items you saw on these pages except the doily and the journal stickers.  Also the pink paper is new.

Thank you beyond belief for joining me on my recycling quest.  I am so grateful for your support of my art and recycling efforts.  Please join me at Art Journal Journey, too.

You are quite creative in how you manage to make trash into treasure. Such great re-uses of materials, and you end up with actual art!

Fantastic filler pages for your journals. A great idea to include a flap for hidden messages . You are so good finding ways to recycle so many items that could easily be thrown away.

Your doing a grand job using up things we would not look twice at, plenty to keep you occupied and you've saved so much time by preparing them in advance, they will be most useful Elizabeth and make great additions to your journals. Hugs Tracey xx

Ok...dumb dumb me kept reading all the way through so my above comment should be with your next post. I love all the note pads and other pieces you use to create pages. I have to laugh that you did the wrong side because I have done that more than once, mind you I did not laugh when it happened.
