Friday Smiles 318: Back to the Museum of World Treasures

It's Friday and once again time to join Annie (at A Stitch in Time) and the ladies at Friday Smiles.   But first, a few funnies I found in my office when I cleaned it up last year.

Two lions are eating a clown, then one lion says to the other "This tastes funny."

One day a blonde office worker comes out to the warehouse to walk around.   As she is walking she looks up and sees a co-worker hanging upside down from an I-Beam in the ceiling.

She asks "What ARE you doing?"

The co-worker says "I need a few days off but the boss won't let me have them so I'm hanging upside down from this I-Beam acting crazy.

The boss will see me, think I need rest and send me home for a few days."

The blonde says "That won't work...uh ohh...here comes the boss now, you're in for it."

The boss spots the blonde looking up and sees the man hanging up there and asks him "Just WHAT do you think you are DOING?!!"

The man says (in a "crazy" voice) I'm a light bulb...I'm a light bulb."

The boss says "Buddy, you need some rest..take the rest of today and tomorrow off and get some sleep."

As he is climbing down he winks at the blonde showing her it worked.

The blonde thinks about this for a moment and starts to follow the man out the door.

The boss asks her "WHERE do you think YOU'RE going?"

The blonde says "I can't work in the dark."

One day, after school was over, a teacher walked up to one of her students. For a school assignment she asked him to find four phrases, write them down then give them back to her the next day.

So, the student reached home and asked his mom if she had a phrase.

"Shut up!!!", exclaimed the mom.

Next, the student went to his brother and asked if he had a phrase.

"Bada bada BATMAN!!!", laughed the brother.

Next, the student went to the neighborhood janitor and asked if he had a phrase.

"Garbage, garbage, garbage, nothing but garbage all day long!", complained the janitor.

Finally for his final phrase the student asked the town baker if he had a phrase.

"My buns are burning, my buns are burning!", shouted the baker.

The next day at school the student waltzed up to his teacher's desk

"Do you have your four phrases" asked the Teacher?

"Shut up!" shouted the student.

The teacher feeling very hurt asked,
"Who do you think you are!?"

"Bada bada BATMAN," laughed the student.

"What are you getting out of this school?" asked the teacher.

"Garbage, garbage, garbage, nothing but garbage all day long!"

Then the teacher spanked the student and he went around yelling "MY BUNS ARE BURNING MY BUNS ARE BURNING!"

Once a captain on his ship was disturbed by his assistant telling him, "Sir! Sir! There are 5 enemy ships on the horizon."

The captain tells the man," Get my red coat and prepare for battle!"

The assistant runs without question to get the captain's red coat and prepares for battle. After their victory the assistant asks the captain why he wanted his red coat.

The captain tells the assistant "If I was shot you would not be able to tell I'm bleeding and you would keep fighting."

The assistant thought this was a great idea. The next day the assistant came to the captain, "Sir! Sir! There are twenty enemy ships on the horizon!"

The captain was stunned. He looked at the assistant and told him "Get me my brown pants!"

That's enough for today.  Here are a few photos from the Crown area of the Museum of World Treasures.  As I've stated before, most of these photos are rubbish. They were shot from too far back, in too crowded an area, or were out of focus.  However, I'm going to share them anyway, because they are part of my British heritage.

Today we are in the exact middle of this map, where we will see photos that revolve around Creating the Crown.  You will see royal documents you can't read and swords and firearms that are often out of focus.

Let's begin

by showing the various Royal families and how they all are interwoven.

I showed this the last time we were together, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to share it again.

It seems so much of Europe was tied together through marriage or lineage in one way or another.

I'm aware that it's impossible to read all the names on the list, and the photos I took of this exhibit, where the lighting was atrocious, and everything was under glass, made me think about the days when I had my old camera that took lousy photos.  Let's move on.

I'll let you scroll through these at your leisure (or speed).  I'll only leave comments when I feel they are appropriate.

It appears I didn't get the full helmet in the photo!

Museum Day, 2018 was all about women making history.  I was so glad to see Eleanor of Aquitaine, because I know my friend Chris really loves her.

These are for you, dear Chris.

I'm fairly certain this has something to do with Eleanor of Aquitaine, too.

RUBBISH PHOTO!

I managed to take a wrong turn somewhere and had to find what I had missed.

Once again, I seem to have taken a wrong turn because this does NOT belong with the 1000 - 1100 AD documents and firearms we have been looking at.

I will leave you with a smile before I get even more frustrated over these photos I took.  Thanks as usual for joining me in the museum today.  Please don't forget to start your weekend off right by visiting Annie for a few Friday Smiles.  We would love to have you join, also.

I rather like the tapestry even if it doesn't belong in that time. I used to love making brass-rubbings when I lived in England, a fascinating hobby. A lot of Churches don't allow it anymore because it wears the brass away. Have a great day, Valerie

Happy Friday dear Elizabeth!
Much work here as my brother arrives soon -lol!

Sadly I am unable to focus on several of the photos...it could be my early morning eyes or the photos but thanks for sharing them anyway. I chuckled at the 'other relation'! I'm sure there was a lot of those. Fab funnies this week too.
Hugs,

This looks like a fantastic exhibit. I really like the family tree. That would be an ambitious calligraphic project. Lovely tapestry even though it might not belong with documents and firearms. Thanks for the tour of the museum.

What an interesting exhibition. Such a shame we can't read much of it.I was fascinated by the shoe. Again, I would have loved to read what it says. The Vikings are another subject that interests me. Apparently they made it all the way to southern Spain.
I did chuckle at the funnies.
Enjoy your weekend,
Lisca

Super photos, sorry I couldn't read some of them, but that happens to us all when we take photos in museums and through glass. I really liked the family tree it must have been good to see and read.
I had my smile at the funnies, but I don't think that these days a teacher would be getting away with slapping some ones rear end. However in my infant school days you could get sent to the headmaster. who gave out punishments with the cane on your hand. Thankfully i was good, it must have hurt.
Have a great day.

The teacher smile was funny. And this looks like a fascinating museum exhibit. It's really interesting in your photos to see this area covered not only royalty but Vikings and other weapons. I thought from your title it would just be about guns, knives and other weapons from the western expansion. Hope you had a nice Friday. Hugs-Erika

I'm so intrigued with the history of European royalty (especially the Brits but in general too, though I know much less about them). So I would LOVE this!

Your words on my Easter post made me smile bigger than I have in a month. Thank you!
