Spring has arrived

The spring or vernal equinox will arrived at 5:58 p.m. EDT.  It will be at 4:58 p.m. CDT (see my right sidebar for Wichita, KS time.  Theoretically spring has arrived in the northern hemisphere and autumn has arrived in the southern hemisphere.

Today I'm once again joining Jo from Let's Art Journal who is our host this month at Art Journal Journey with her Hello Springtime theme.  I'm also joining Moo-Mania and More with their Close to Nature theme.

It's time to greet spring, even if it hasn't yet arrived where you live.

It's definitely time to turn the page on winter.

It's time to get rid of snow and ice.

We definitely want our cardinals to stay,

but we want to see them nesting in the warmth of a spring wreath,

not a frozen snow encased wreath.

Yes!  It's time to welcome springtime!

Spring has truly arrived, if only in my altered book.

For this two page spread I created in my Challenges altered book, I began with two cards, one that signified winter and one that signified springtime.  For the winter page, I added ice crystal Stickles.  I did nothing for the springtime page, except add the sentiment I colored using water soluble crayons.

I'm truly delighted you decided to visit today and hope you celebrate the vernal equinox with me.  Please also join Bleubeard and me at Art Journal Journey and Moo-Mania and More, too.   I believe I've missed the nature theme at Moo Mania, so I will not be entering that today.

The reason I was offline so long began when my friend Kathy came to visit on Friday.  I explained I had to wait for the service repair person from AT&T.  Around 3 p.m., I got a "courtesy call" telling me the repair person couldn't make it until sometime between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.  I got a bit frustrated and said I had already waited and had company who was hungry and we were NOT going to wait till 8 p.m. to eat.  We would have to reschedule.

Yes, that's a rocking horse gift
She said she would have to talk to the repairman.  She called me back and said the earliest she could get the repairman to visit would be Monday between 1 and 5 p.m.  I was frustrated even further, but wasn't about to let them dictate my life any further.   At the time, I didn't realize I couldn't link my AJJ and MM&M art, but dear Susi came to the rescue and linked for me.

You'll have to wait till next Tuesday to see the rest of the goodies I received.

This spread is so utterly beautiful dear Elizabeth and wonderful for Moo Mania & More's and Art Journal Journey's theme my friend! Thank you so much for posting and taking part in the challenges even though you had so much trouble and much to do and even a guest!

I wish you a very happy day and hope you will get the eagerly anticipated spring as soon as possible.
I really think now it is time for nature to come out of hibernation.

The April posting at AJJ is already scheduled my dear Co.-Admin!

Big hugs, Susi

I would have been exactly the same Elizabeth we can not let these people dictate our lives as much as we need them to fix when we can not fix ourselves they need to know that there unsociable hours do not suit us all. I often think they do these things on purpose!! I love how you have moved into Spring from winter, such a clever way to journal.
I seem to have had so many days dealing with other things, I really need to get back to it and have a little me time.
Wishing you well and look forward to seeing those received goodies
Hugs Tracey xx

I love the cardinals on your spread. I am so ready for warmer weather. How frustrating with the cable company. Do you have another cable company in your area like Verizon, Spectrum, XFinity? I'd drop AT&T in a heartbeat. At least you have a nice visit with your friend and a lovely gift.

Lovely art journal pages and a great idea. It's also a Full Moon on the first day of Spring! That rocking horse gift looks great. (And I'm sorry to hear ATT gave you the run around, but I'm not surprised. But I also think all of the internet companies are like that.)

Lovely pages, and very clever! I hope spring is springing soon in your area. We had snow a few weeks ago and now we have summer. I’m not sure where spring went. I actually hope it cools off to be more springlike! Sorry to hear about your repair issues!

Ahhh... spring at last! Waiting for the repair man is not a fun thing. Hope it all gets resolved, and soon.

I love how your pages show the change in the seasons, the page for Spring looks so restful the way the blossom flows over the page.
Good for you not giving up more time waiting for the repair people. We wait around long enough and I can understand how you must have felt.
The rocking horse looks lovely, I look forward to seeing Tuesdays post.

Both pages are beautiful Elizabeth, but my favourite if the the cherry blossom page.
So sorry you have been given the run around by your internet provider, hope it's all sorted now :)

What a so Gorgeous Art spread page Elizabeth !! I love these little birds and the nest they are building for their babies, and I also love the ice crystal stickles, that's great !! The page of spring is beautiful, love these flowers.
It's frustrating that internet companies play with us the way they do. In my opinion we, the clients, also have rights, and, perhaps, if you can, you would be interested in changing of internet company.
I love your rocking horse, it's beautiful, a nice gift.
I wish you a very nice day, and send big hugs.
Caty

I'm in complete sympathy with your lovely spread. Bring on the nesting cardinals and flowering trees!

I wish internet companies were operated like the public utility they seem to me to be. I'm glad they _finally_ got you back up and running, but we shouldn't have to put up with this :(

That is really bad customer service. I'm sorry you had to deal with that.
Love your pages. Purrfect.

Oh I do like the idea of your journal spread. Goodbye winter. It is sure time for it to be over. And oh I want to see more of these gifts and especially that cool rocking horse. Glad you are back online. Hurrah! Hugs-Erika

Beautiful spread, Elizabeth. I love the snowy texture on the winter page. I like the coincidence that your concept is similar to the last spread I did for AJJ - winter on the left morphing into spring on the right. Happy spring! I'm glad you finally got your internet back. I applaud your attitude of not putting your life on hold to wait for repairmen. I'm like that too. Eileen xx

Your winter-to-spring pages are very pretty and very clever. And it looks like your visit with Kathy was a fun one! Can't wait to see more!

This a such very clever and beautiful spread Elizabeth! I am pleased you got your internet fixed but know about the frustration of a workman ringing afterI have stayed in for most of the day only to have a call to say they are not coming! I went to the docs for my scan result today - appointment 12.40....got in at 13.10 and I've been referred on to a "specialist'! Hugs, Chrisx
