Yellow abstract

By now I'm sure you know our host at Art Journal Journey is Rike of Rike's Art.  Rike wants us to use yellow as the primary or major ingredient in our art.

I created this abstract art this afternoon, with thoughts of my dear friend Cindy's abstracts in mind.  Sadly, I don't have her command of abstract art, but this actually turned out better than I suspected, even though I changed ideas twice while making it.

Once again, I had trouble coming up with a name.  Here are a few ideas:

Circular confusion
By the numbers
Hearts on fire
Hide your heart

For this page, I began with 110 lb card stock to which I added yellow circles, numbers (through a stencil), and swishes.  Next, I added red, green, yellow, and blue water soluble crayon circles and regular blue and red crayons through a stencil.  When these didn't look complete, I added the yellow gel pen through the same stencil.  Still not satisfied, I added the various doodles in green and black gel pens.   I now had so many disjointed and disparate images, I couldn't decide what to name it, so left it for you to decide if you like any I thought of, or if you have a better suggestion.

Thank you so much for your visit today.  I am always grateful when you stop by.  I also hope you will join us this month at Art Journal Journey with your yellow inspired art.

I like your happy abstract so much Elizabeth! I adore the titles you suggested but came up with my own for this:
"Transportation of colour to the locked hearts" -
I even can see a car with three wheels in the middle of the bottom edge ready to bring the colored bubbles to the locked hearts!

What a lovely scene this is although it is an abstract! A gorgeous and unique entry for Rike's theme my dear Co-Admin Dr.E.!

Wishing you a fantastic week my friend!
It snows again here.... spring will have to wait!

Big hugs, Susi

I think this came out great. I love Cindy's art style. I have problems making abstract art. And I laughed at "circular confusion" as one of your title choices. I'll try to make more yellow artwork for my Book of Days, so I can join the AJJ challenge again.

I like this. I think the doodles really add a lot to this piece. And the white space you left really makes the yellow pop and stand out. Nice work my friend. :) Happy Monday. Hugs-Erika

Oh I do like this. I think it is a true abstract as it doesn't have an identifiable image and this is quite difficult to do. And it is definitely yellow.
I'm so pleased to have had the ultimate compliment - two paws up from Bleubeard. If he has time he could have another look as I have since added an enlargement of the cats. Thanks Bleubeard!

A fun, playful piece. I see faces in the middle so maybe the Eyes Have It. Enjoy your day!

These are fun, Elizabeth. I like the whole page a lot but I also like the individual detail shots as their own pieces. Quite lovely and fun!

I like abstracts, and I like your yellow one here no matter what you decide to name it :)

I would name it "Circular confusion" - you made a wonderful abstract page with lots of yellows and you saved the white space! The different heart designs on both edges make a wonderful frame, the eye is wandering from one side to the other and back to the middle to end in a circular confusion :))
Thank you for joining my theme again in such a beautiful way! Rike xx

Well whatever you decide to name your Abstract art, it sure looks awesome.
I think the....Hide your heart.... title would be the one I would favour. But, I think we will all see and focus on a different part of the page and that is the joy of looking at abstract work.

I love your abstract journal page Elizabeth isn't it amazing the power of yellow, it fills the page even with so much surrounding white space.
The grouping of the three circles remind me of tree tops, a lovely family huddled together.
Wishing you a happy day as as it's now Tuesday for me I wish you a Happy T-Day as i'm still trying to play catch up with it all.
Hugs Tracey xx
